Default Arrow weights

Just curious as to why, for some reason the arrow weights that OT2 is calculating are off by about 15 grains or so on me? I didn't really seem to have this problem with my old version. Also wondering are the hoyt spirals cams 2 cam hard or extra hard? Thanks.

You'd need to provide shaft brand, model, and size info to adequately trouble shoot this.

Remember that the program uses "shaft material only" when you input "shaft length". A common error is to use "complete arrow length"..nock groove to point insert. This will skew the weight calculation because you're essentially adding 0.5" to 0.75" to the shaft material weight calculation.

Many shaft manufacturers also have weight variances between runs of carbon or carbon/aluminum shafts, though 15gr would seem excessive.

If you've entered everthing correctly and the DB shaft info is correct to mfg specs, you can over-ride the GPI section of the arrow to "adjust" the program.

Another area to check is vane weight. Occasionally there are weight variances from color to color for the same vane size.

>>hoyt spirals cams

Are generally considered "2 cam hard"
