Okay... let's get started.

Format is an American Round. 30 arrows each, 60 yards, 50 yards, 40 yards, shot at the 122 cm FITA face. Scoring is 10 for inner gold ring, 9 for outer, 8,7,6, and so on .... Please have scores turned in by Friday night (first scores due 5/30/08). If anyone has any questions let me know.

How about we turn scores in in the following format:

WallleyeJoe (down thirty pounds from the excessive walking:5bouncy: )
60 Yards = 300 50 Yards = 300 40 Yards=300 Total Score=900

Then the next person can just copy, paste and add their score.

SHOOT 'EM UP!

That would be sweeeeet ! You sure know how to sucker a guy into shooting this format. ;)

But I'm gonna have to find another way to drop thirty pounds. I had a dozen 250 Maxima's made up yesterday. :5bomb:

Thanks for posting my first round scores above. How'd ya know? :D

GlowbugAng
05-23-2008, 06:54 PM
Don't worry Jack... I've not shot yet. I'm sure there could be some 12's on my score card!:D

That would break the tie right?

I think I might have thndrr and Pibb interested in this also. Especially when I said I'd furnish them with my extra target! Maybe Barbtender and thndrrlver will join in as well!

Joe,

I think this is the one I ordered. I hope it's right.

To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

Then I ordered 10 of these patches to go with it.

Maybe I jumped the gun a little? Thought you guys had targets already. If we're not ready to turn in scores by next Friday, let me know... we can hold off longer if need be. Don't want anyone to miss out if they want to shoot.

Is the 122cm target supposed to be the size of a shetland pony or did I order the wrong thing?

Is it too late to get in on this here deal?

GlowbugAng
06-03-2008, 11:09 AM
Rob,

Nope, not too late. I don't think anyone has turned in a score yet. I know I didn't get one turned in. Was trying to give eveyone time to get targets and get ready.

I actually need to get back on this and get an updated list and find out if everyone is ready to get started.

RobertM
06-03-2008, 12:55 PM
Iright......well what all does the Rob need to do to get in on this?

GlowbugAng
06-03-2008, 04:10 PM
As long as you've got your target, just watch the board for the announcement for when we'll get started.

RobertM

The Rob has got one of them big ole target faces, so looks like he's ready to play.

Now y'all take it easy on the the Rob......the Rob is gonna be shootin' his Buckmasters setup (only a month until the qualifier in Birmingham, AL), so went he post sub 600 scores, don't laugh too much. ;)

shootsahoyt
06-09-2008, 09:45 PM
Alright, this might be a little more challenging than what I originally thought. I shot this is 3 ends of 10 arrows. The 1st end I had a red headed 4 year old pulling releases out of my pouch, getting out me rangefinder while I was at full draw and carrying on an endless conversation!! Those are my excuses and I'm sticking to them.

End #1: 93
End #2: 93
End #3: 97

40 yard total score: 283 :o At least it gets longer from here!! :5bomb:

RobertM

The Rob got Vacation Bible School going on this week, so the Rob ain't gonna be able to get 90 arrows shot until Saturday. However, the Rob is planning on doing that there first thing Saturday morning after he watches a few cartoons. ;)

But since the Rob sees Shootsahoyt has done went and at least posted a score from one distance, the Rob will endeavor to at least do the same this afternoon.

Let's GET-R-DONE. :icon_thumright:

GlowbugAng

Okay.. looks like we're live. Since this week is almost done, and we were gonna end the week on friday, lets have scores turned in by Friday 6/20/08... so shootsahoyt, you're a bit ahead.

But.. WE ARE NOW A GO! Distace league is alive and active! Shoot em up!

That's good! The wind hasn't stopped blowing here in days! I wasn't looking forward to the 50 and 60 yarders in the wind!

RobertM
06-12-2008, 07:51 AM
Oh now.....the wind ain't nothin' to fear. :icon_biggrin: Alls you got to do is just relax and let the pin float. Don't try to "make" it stay in the center, rather let it draft out, then smoothly bring it back to the middle and continue to focus on the shot. A steady wind is easier to adjust to (at least for the Rob) than a gusting wind. But on gusty days, the Rob tries to draw when the wind is blowing real strong, that way he is ready to shot when the wind passes.

One thing about it, a person be never get figure out how to shoot well in the wind without gettin' out there and shootin' in it. :icon_cool:

RobertM
06-12-2008, 07:56 AM
Well.......the Rob spent to much time picking squash and tomatoes yesterday in the garden to shoot for score at any distance before having to herd the family up to go to Vacation Bible School. Oh well......at least GlowbugAng said we got until the 20th to Get-R-Done. :icon_biggrin: :icon_cool:

RobertM

The Rob ain't never heard of scoring like that there.....don't mean it ain't, just never heard of that. The few times the Rob has shot these here American Rounds it was scored like a Vegas target: 10X, 10, 9, 8, 7, etc. :icon_cool:

So let's let our "Glow"rious leader, GlowbugAng :icon_wink:, to provide a ruling on the proper scoring. :icon_cool: Your loyal subjects await your decision. :icon_thumright:

Scoring is 10 for inner gold ring, 9 for outer, 8,7,6, and so on .... Please have scores turned in by Friday night (first scores due 5/30/08). Ok.....it would help if'n the Rob would read the rules before postin'. :icon_rolleyes:

Anyway, the Rob still needs some clearification on this here.....are we just not scorin' the X ring, or is the X ring actually the 10 ring?

Here's a photo of how to score. The X counts as 10X.. then the next ring counts as 10... still inside the yellow. Then the 9 is the outer yellow ring.

That's the target I have, but there is no inner X. There is a yellow X ring, an outer yellow ring which I assume is a 9. If I shoot a 10 on my target, it's an X. ???

is this your target face?

Excellent job guys! Now on to week 2! Skip and I have to get ours shot in this afternoon or tomorrow afternoon, we are leaving Wednesday for Metropolis. So you fellas (Rob M and Shootsahoyt) will be on your own to get your scores copied in. But I have total faith in you that YOU CAN DO IT! :D

I'll have my laptop, and will check in on ya!

Well.....the Rob tried to shoot his round yesterday afternoon, but about half way through a thunderstrom in the area started producing a bunch of lighting and strong wind. Didn't rain much, but the lighting was what the Rob didn't wanna mess with.

Anyway, I've got to help setup a local 3D range this afternoon after work to get ready for the shoot this weekend. Then Saturday, the Rob is gonna be tied up with Field Day (Amateur Radio) all day and night (literally, it's a non-stop 24 hour deal). Then Sunday the Rob will probably crash. So unless our "wonderful and understanding" leader :icon_wink: will let the Rob do a double round next week, the Rob won't be able to turn a score in for this week. :icon_cool:

GlowbugAng
07-01-2008, 02:07 PM
It's okay Rob... the Skipper and I didnt get our scores shot either. Doesn't look like Shootsahoyt got one in either? Or am I missing it?

Hey Rob and Shootsahoyt... I've been thinking (yes, this could be dangerous)... would this be easier if we shortened this to a 450 round instead of a 900 round? I know it seems to be hard to find time to shoot, much less to shoot 90 arrows. Would it help if we cut it in half? Maybe that would be an easier thing to do?

Let me know your thoughts on it.... I'm pretty much up for anything.

And no, I've not gotten my scores shot in... was exhausted from our drive from Metropolis, then my daughter had the stomach bug that Skip had in Metro, then I had it. So I am running WAY behind.

Sorry guys! I'll try to shoot this tomorrow. I worked 76 hours last week, which included 12 hours on Saturday and 14 hours on Sunday (Can you say double time!! :5bouncy::5bouncy:) So I didn't get much done besides work and sleep!

Just messin' with you dude, the Rob totally understands. :icon_cool: Plus it's mighty hard to shoot good when you got 150 things you need to be doin' runnin' through you head at full draw. :icon_wink: Remember....this here American Round League is for fun. :icon_cool: The Rob believes our "Glow"rious leader will work with you to make the scores up when you get time. :icon_cool:

Shootsahoyt... don't worry... I'll add your scores in as you get them shot. We've all had a hard time getting them shot in. Skip still owes me one, and we have another to get shot in by Friday. Seems like when you plan to do something, that's when everything else has to be done.

The Rob... I'm shooting my primary bow (which is my ONLY bow :D )

Mathews Prestige
24.5" / 50#
Copper John Ants Evo II site bar
CR Apex 1 1/8" (i think) 2X lens
Gold Tip Ultralight 600 arrows 80 grain glue in points
and my trusty 3 finger Zenith Release!
Rip Cord arrow rest
AEP "stabilization"(as Nunzio would say) around 24" on the front stabilizer and maybe 8" on side bar

Sorry everyone! I have been working crazy hours and then I sold the bow that I've been using for this league. I finally set up another bow yesterday and at least got a 40 yard shot tonight.

40 yards:

50 - 4X
50 - 4X
50 - 3X

150 - 11X total

The 1st two ends my out arrows (of the X) appeared to be kiss outs. The last end was just me being me!! :5bomb:

The Rob is gonna try to get his round in this evening. :icon_thumright:

The Rob has tried to shoot a 450 round the last two days, but it has started raining both days before the Rob can get outside to shoot. The forecast calls for a decrease in shower activity this afternoon, so maybe the Rob will get his round in today. :icon_thumleft:
