The information I am receiving here from the ATA Show is impressive. The interest in the new line of bows seems to be there. The booth and the shooting lanes were busy all day. I will be there tomorrow and will post some pictures from there.

ATA Show was awesome! Sorry you weren't able to make it! Lots of interest and almost non-stopped at the shooting lines.

As far as dealers goes, I wasn't at the booth very much....mostly at the shooting lanes....so I didn't get to much insight on that.

lterry,

Can you tell me what model storm the fellow was shooting in the picture? That thing is an awesome looking target bow! Second question is it available in the short draw lengths? IE 25-26" Third What is the IBO speed on this bow? Fourth What is the MSRP for a target color?

As you can tell you have my interest BIG TIME! LOL
PS Thank you for sending me a catalog. Hope you folks had a safe trip home.

McArcher..

The bow that Charlie is Shooting is an E1 series bow.* This series of bows come in 33",* 35", and 37" axel to axel lengths.* The E1 Series 33 comes in draw lengths 25" to 29" and the E1series 35 and 37 come in 26" to 30" draw lengths.

As for IBO speed, set at 30" draw and at 70#'s you will get excess of 300fps.* Edgell will be doing more testing as to the fps for the shorter draw lengths this week.* It is his opionin that it should come in around 260 to 265 fps at a 26" draw.* As soon as this testing is done I will update this post.

The Custom Colors are:* Realtree Hardwoods HD Camo Clear Coat;* Black, Red or Blue

As for MRSP, I don't have that at my fingertips but will post it as soon as I can talk with Pete tomorrow.

And yes, we had a safe trip home and a wonderful time at the ATA Show!

Thanks again for your interest in Storm Archery.* I will keep you updated. :xn_lol:

McArcher,

The E1 series 33 through 37 Target modles MSRP would be between 739 and 799

ET is testing the speeds for these bows at 26" draw now.............will post results ASAP

lterry,

Thank you for the information. I'm sorry to be asking so many question. But thank you for putting up with me anyway.

I will wait to hear the results of Edgell tests for the short draw version of the E series. I think that 33" might be my best bet!

We will see.

Not a problem.* * * :xn_cheesygrin:* * * * * * * * * * That is what this part of the site is for: questions and answers.

That is why I check in here so often.* If I can be of some help to another archer regarding information on Storm Archery than I feel I have accomplished what this section of the site was set up for.* *

I know companies normally say that a bow will shoot at 30" draw at 70#'s* "X"fps.....but that doesn't help the archer with the shorter draw lengths.* What any bow will shoot at this setting, is not what you can expect for a shorter draw even at the same poundage let along less poundage.* This is why we are here....to help archers....supply them with reasonable answers that apply to their particular request.

Would it be best for him to do the testing at 25 or 26 inch draw, and while we are at it, what poundage do you shoot?* This way we can get closer to the correct answer for you.

Thanks again for the interest you have shown in Storm Archery* * *:D

lterry,

My perfect draw length is 25 3/4". But with a loop it is right at 26 1/8". I normally shoot a bow at 65-67lbs. I know this may seem like a high poundage, but at this short draw length you have to do what you can. The arrows that I shoot weigh 326grns. which is shooting on the edge at 5grns. I shoot mostly local 3D and ASA in open B class. The speed limit is 280fps +or- 3%. LOL I have never had the problem of shooting too fast an arrow. If I could shoot in the mid 270's I would be doing hand stands acrossed the front yard. The problem I most run into is there are very few bows that will do that at my draw length. Unless I shoot an arrow at about 4grn per pound. Which is the next best thing to a dry fire. The only bows that i have found that will shoot that fast at two cams with low brace height. they are not bad you just have to keep a watch on the tune all the time.
But this is the real world so as I say you do what you can.

Sorry to be so long winded! :?

McArcher,

ET is in the process of testing for your speed. So far the testing is going in your favor. It looks like the E1series 33 will be in excess of 270fps at 26"draw at 65#'s. I will give you the final results of the testing tomorrow.

Next question: Do you have a dealer in your area if you decide on this bow? Since I do not know where you are located......I can not tell you if a dealer is in your area.

lterry,

I am located in eastern N.C. and I do not know of a storm dealer in N.C. at all. I am liking the results of the testing so far. When the web site is up will it have a dealer locater? Do you folks sell direct if no dealer is in the area?

Tell Edgell thank you for me for the testing!
Also thank you for all the information!

I don't know if the site will have a dealer locator or not.* I will check with Paul on this one and let you know.

Maybe by the time you decide to purchase the bow a dealer will be in your area. :D*

McArcher:

And the results are in:

67#'s
26" draw
4" cam and Wheels
carbon express 350.....335g = 5g per #
average speed is 260 fps

Same set up but using a carbon express 200 with 2.5 duro vanes ....284g =4.24g per #
average speed is 282 fps

We used several different arrow sizes and weights to determind the speed of this bow.

If you want the extra speed, you will have to go to a lighter arrow weight....either way it is a smooth shockfree bow.*

ET says this is the best you can expect direct from the manufacturer.

Edgell knows his bows that is for sure. Those are some outstanding results.

lterry

Good results

But would have liked to see them come in a little higher.

I know how he feels about short draws and higher poundage to get speed.

Edgell has aways had to make major changes in my bows because of my draw lenght. I can remember my first Power Mag that he had to put 80# limbs on and pre-load them to get me 40#'s because I had a 21" draw and the "little wheels". I was lucky to get 147fps. (1989 I think)

Now I have my Little Thunder with a 21" draw and I have it set at 50#'s and get 252fps. I still have to have the "little round wheels" but at least I get some speed without having to remake the whole bow. :D

lterry,

You may think that the results from Edgell's tests are good. But I think they are outstanding!!! I don't mind changing arrows if I need to. Please tell Edgell Thank you very much!!! Now if only the web site was up. Oh well I'll just wait.

Thank you again for all your help! If the web site does not have a dealer locater. I will contacted storm and ask them.
