How many of you guys/gals have made your own recurve or longbow?? I got the Bingham Projects book and kinda have the itch to make my own. :shocked:

I made a few flat bows out of lemonwood a long time back, copying the design of a fibreglass bow. They shot very nicely, too.

It's not too difficult, but it's best to hone your skills on some scrap wood before trying it out on good staves. And you'll probably need to get hold of a spokeshave -- I don't know how readily available they are in the US, but they're about as common as rocking-horse poop here in Britain... :rolleyes:
