Michael Waddell, regular guy

Went to the second day of the new Gander Mountain's Grand Opening in College Station, Texas today and got to sit and talk with Michael Waddell. A small group of hunters were in the room and conversation ranged from anti-hunter protests to his enjoyment of taking does every year. I have always enjoyed his program Realtree Road Trips. He really seems to be a genuine down to earth guy who has a really cool job. :D Even my wife enjoyed it. :D

I really like his show too, it's about the only one I make a special effort to catch. That's cool that you got to meet and talk with him.

Good guy for sure. Especially refreshing to see how he treats people even after being mobbed by them all the time.
I was lucky enough to hang out with a bunch of the "hunting celebs" and just shoot the bull and drink some beer at the Golden Moose awards at the SHOT show this year. There were only two guys out of the who's who of hunters on TV that weren't the most friendly. The rest were great guys.

Michael is my favorite celebrity hunter. I would love to meet him in person. I love Realtree Roadtrips. I have the last 2 seasons on DVD. It's a show I make effort to watch also. I can't wait for the new season. I think it starts in July doesn't it...
