Well I finally got that Doe I have been wanting, I got in my stand at 2:00 this afternoon, as I was climbing up I jumped some deer up about 100 yards out, I thought to myself this isnt good but I sat till 5:00 and didnt see anything, So I thought I would climb down and stalk my way back to the truck going through the apple orchard, I climbed up the hill and peeked over and there was one Doe standing there, I pulled the range finders out and ranged her at 48 yards wide open, I ducked back down came to full draw and popped up and put my 50 yard pin on her vitals and released, I heard a smack and she bolted, I went to where she was standing and picked up a bloody arrow with blood sprayed on the snow from both sides, she ran 30 yards and piled up. I was beginning to think my feezer would go empty this year, I didnt get the big buck I am after but he is still alive and If I dont get him in the next three days he will be bigger next year.

Good job Ganderman. You put the arrow right threw the pump station at 50 yards? That's good shooting! She will be mighty tasty.

When I hit the range finder and it said 48 yards I thought to myself, just draw and aim and I did although the deer stepped forward a bit after the shot it hit its mark, that is the first time I shot a deer at that distance, but thanks to shooting 3-D tornaments I was confident in my skills. The deer looked bigger than it was it wieghed 110 pounds dressed it wasnt bad but wasnt huge either but she will be good eating for sure.
Thanks for all the congrats, the wife is happy now that we will have summer sausage and snack sticks and she loves the backstraps, as well as the kids do.

Well actually it was under my left leg, just kidding I was pumped about this shot, but like I said it was in an apple orchard next to the house in the guys back yard and it was wide open nothing but the deer and air in my way other wise I wouldnt have taken the shot but I am proud of the shot for sure.
It ran across the road onto the neighbors front yard I could see it but I drove up and explained to the guy about the deer and introduced myself and he said by all means you can get the deer and thanked me for asking, we got to talking and he has given me permission to hunt his land across the road, it was an all around great day.
