Looks like a rather large plug. Let's see how they hold up. :undecided:

Ol' Dee has been shooting one for quite awhile (new one with the new insert system)

I'm sure he will enlighten us all about how that thing takes an arrow...

hope we will be saying at the end of the year:- I like it, I love it, I want some more of it! :D

Yeah give us some feedback DD. I think its a good looking target. Looks like it had a decent size 10 ring. Of course who aims for just the 10.

Actualy it's LD :D LOL

I'llpost a picture of it tomorrow. It was the original (first one out of the mold) prototype and has an IBO ring set on it. I've been shooting the thing from 20-50 yards with field points and broadheads. Probably has 400-500 shots in it right now. 'Course I'm not near the shot that Hoyte/Spectre/Pro or TDA are and haven't been just pounding one spot like he would, but my shooting simulates good Bow Nervous Range activity.

Here are some pics of the thing when it was brand new:

Hey...... you moved the 12 ring......

Hey good idea on the way it is replaced, wonder if it pulls hard after shot? The problem of an arrow being outside the plug but maybe touching could crate problems for scoring, maybe.

The new targets pull a lot easier than the old McKenzies......

I was fortunate enough to be able to shoot a limited number of them at the Illinois Pro-Am last year.

I did notice one thing on these targets........ The lines are tough to see on the dark targets so you 3D'ers better start memorizing now.... 8) I was looking through Brunton 10X Epochs.... (and it don't get much better than that) and the lines were tough to make out.

Put arrow removal was not a problem...... Of course, when you're in the 12 it's easier to pull when two or three others are there with you.

And don't believe ol' LD either...... he can bring the heat. Whipped me good in Metropolis 8)

How does the 12 ring on these new targets compare to the Rineharts? Smaller, bigger or same size?

Dude...we all whipped you good in Metropolis :)

I might even own the high score from us also rans.. Im not sure.. but I think it was 10 down...

Yeah, I was 2+ in Metropolis.** *:D

Here's the ring deminsions and placement:
Target Size Large, Medium, Small

10-Ring Size (O.D.) 5.250" 4.625" 4.000"

Pro-12 Size* *(O.D.) 1.875" 1.750" 1.625"

14-Ring Size (O.D.) 1.625" 1.500" 1.375"

PRO-12 PLACEMENT:
The Pro-12 will be in the lower back half of the 10-ring touching the edge
of the 10-ring and an imaginary line bisecting the center of the 10-ring.

14-RING PLACEMENT:
The placement of the 14-ring will be in the upper rear half of the 8-ring.
It will be touching the 8-ring and an imaginary line drawn from the top of
the 10-ring toward the 8-ring. This will position the 14-ring above and to
the rear of the 10-ring. (Exceptions will be made on an animal like the
standing bear, where there is more room below the 10-ring for placement.)

OK...Psuedo Scientific Experiment* :D

I went out this morning and shot the thing 5 times to simulate a 5-person group on the range.* Shot at 30 yards to simulate an average distance for Hunter Class.* Left the arrows in for 5 min to simulate waiting to pull.* Pulled the arrows and then waited 3 min to simulate the time it takes for the next group to get to the stake.

The target has close to 300 broadhead and field point shots in it already...I've been shooting it off and on since the first of Oct at an averatge distance of 30 yards.

PS...the 5:00 10 was a glance off LOL 8)

Looks like you need to move your pin down and to the left a bit . Either that or have your arm adjusted. PDT_Armataz_01_12 :-k Just kidding!

Looks like the target is holding up pretty good. At least better than the old McKenzies.

Have you shot any holes in the head or butt? :D

Shooting for safe 12's...that's why I don't shoot many 12's LOL

The head and tail are the same material.* *I was thinking just make the target out of cement (it would be harder to steal them) and just make the insert out of good qualify foam.* The shipping cost would go up, but the thing would last forever* :P

Might need a few operations after setting them. :D

...man LETAHL DOSEAGE ...if I didn't know better I'd a said that first photo looked like us UNLIMITED shooters had shot that McBear from around 45 yards with 'em all packed in there like that 8)

...well if anyone can put these things to a "test" I know Marcia can...so let her take some shots at the thing!!! :x_cool:

...LD, do you have any other photo's of the other McKenzies we'll be shooting on the ASA PRO-AM Trail this yeere???...if so... POST 'EM UP BRO and stop holdin' out on the rest of us =P~ =P~ =P~

glad that you posted that pic Dee. The one that I bought a few weeks ago looks nothing like that :x_evil:

Mine looks like the second day on a Pro range without an insert change And I only have about 120 shots on mine. I am sending it back this week.

DD, I scammed that one out of Mike Ingold (McKenzie VP Sales). He was going to send it to Kennesaw and I told him to send it to me so I could "test drive" it LOL. He bit and the rest is just good clean fun.

LHPuncher, that was the first one out of the mold and a few changes have been made to the insert shape, but the overall 8-ring is slightly smaller than the old targets because it has to stay inside the core. That won't matter to Spectre, Deere-Man or TDA, but I might pick up a few more 5's. LOL

The deminsions for the 10, 12 & 14 rings are as I posted earlier in the thread. DD, bring your bow to Indy and I'll have that target in the back of my truck. We can stack the matress behind it and you can test drive that baby.

McKenzie should have the set at their booth and if so maybe we can get some pics up on the site during the show. :P

...Okay Dee, now we're talking PDT_Armataz_01_34 ...if McKenzie has the entire set at their booth, Skip should be able to get digital photo's and have them up on ASN in no time for all those who had to stay home, to see \:D/

TDA...... I managed to hear that you had a little trouble with yours..... :x_evil:

I would think that Lancaster or McKenzie would take care of you......... since it's you :afro:

They were pretty decent in Metropolis. Perhaps you got a lemon?

On the flip side...... having the line shot out helps a guy like me...... because if you can't call it out.......
