I set up a new Ameristep Intimidator this morning out in front of a feeder where I have had pigs coming in. I got in about 4:40 and before I could get set up good a group comes strolling in and began vacuuming the corn. I stuck a young male and he is laying in the woods with my arrow in him which I want back. I did it the hard way with him quartering a little too hard away. It is currently 41 degrees and falling so he will keep as long as the 'yotes don't get him. As soon as I recover him I'll post the video. I need to remember I have a GPS now so it is easy to mark last blood IF you have it with you. ??? I can find last blood though since there where three holly trees together near it.

TXD I wasn't able to recover him but his group was back this morning. They are a real problem around here and the ranchers want them dead! I did want my arrow and bhead though. :(

Here's a link to video of the shot. Pig Shot (http://www.huntingfootage.com/showphoto.php?photo=3475&cat=513)

These animals are considered pests in most parts of Texas. In many counties the Game Wardens tell people to shoot them and leave them if they don't want them but for some reason the TPWD is thinking of re-categorizing them as an "exotic" animal. I think it has something to do with the licensing requirements.

You're teasing me Bill. Three weeks until the south MO attempt then another two weeks and I am headed for Texas.

Thanks for the vid, it got me all worked up again, and right before bed time.

A ranch in Pearsall. It's long drive but it's among the cheapest ranches I can find.

Man that is some prime big buck country too! Before you book your next trip let me know. I want to put you in touch with a guy I know to see how he compares in price. Would be a bit closer for you if the price is right and probably not 45 minutes from me. :D

Bill, found that pig yet?

From the pix, looks like you punctured the right lung and maybe cut into some liver as well. But as you didn't go right after him, chances are he's not far away.

Let me know if I guessed right!

:D

Me too. I'm thinking high, angling forward, back a bit too far. Might have gotten the liver, eh... don't know, but only one lung. I'd bet he survived quite a while or recovers.
