Went out again saturday night backhome in N.C. Kansas to my honeyhole to bring home the groceries. I didn't have a stand setup in this big tree we call "the five way tree" cause it grows 5 big trees all of the same spot, so i just kneeled down next to it. Big boy came out at roughly 5:15 p.m. behind me to my left (not good since ima lefty) and spotted me right off the bat. thanking God for a south wind, the invention of scentkiller, and full camo, we played "peekaboo" with each other behind a sapling for five or ten minutes. He looked East one too many times and after the 3rd time I was able to get turned around fully in his direction and commenced the reroute of his plumbing detail! :D
25 yard shot and when I shot him he barely moved. in fact, he stood there long enough to let me put my bow down and pick up my binos to see if i had hit him, weirdest thing ever happened to me hunting. At first I thought i missed him clean cause i didn't get the good "THWACK" you hear, but more like the sound of something hitting a pillow.
So anyways, he walks off and after ten minutes of me doubting myself of the shot placement, I go looking for the arrow. Much to my excitement, I found a arrow lying under a downed tree stuck in the ground with a fresh coat of red stain and crispy leaves. Oh my, the fists pumps in the air with the muffled screams of joy filled my headnet and clothing with the greatest of feelings ever known to man.
Gotta love the rush..
he field dressed at 205lbs. , my biggest deer to date.
Thanks again Roger's sporting goods. even though the diablo is by no means fast, its whisper quiet and brings home the meat to Daddy, lmao. German Kenetic broadheads are the shiznit and will be my choice of Bh's from now on.
