Just wanted to get feedback from some of you fellow bowhunters. I was hunting northern missouri public land for five days straight and hit it very hard and did not see anything or rutting activity.Very disappointed, now i know thats hunting but to see nothing in that lenght of time makes me wonder. Also driving the country roads did not see anything .Besides the weather whats going on.

GT can't help much being that I'm here in Texas but one universal thing comes to mind. How's the hunting pressure? We are starting to see the effects of hunting pressure here.

Mid Missouri: No rutting activity either :( Most of the Bucks are still with bucks ??? Most of the little bucks doing all the scrapes so far, How ever I did see the one I wanted too tonight, not sure but I think I rattled him in, Come in all by his lonesome but no shot was presented :( This deer was out of the woods by 4:00 grunted at him and stopped come back and this lost sight of him. so far the rattling is doing more good than any thing else.

Not much pressure either :D Come Saturday morning that will be a whole different story :new_snipersmilie:

Hunting the public land here can be very productive. I kille my biggest Buck ever on public land. But here you just have to wal a long ways to get away from people.

If you dont walk a long ways, you'll be having the best hunt you ever had, and some jack leg will come walking in on you.

Sometimes it just aint fun to share...

The bucks we have been seeing have been really zoned in on does. We gun hunted this weekend and saw 5 buck total I believe and they were all after does. We have found 0 scrapes, and very few rubs but the bucks have really been chasing where we are. My buddy killed a nice 8 that was after a doe, and I saw a spike that was zoned in on a does trail as well. I am gonna hit it again tomorrow and tag out on anything legal, I don't like gun hunting!! Bunch Hollow is a big area but hunted hard ! My uncle used to farm part of if when I was a kid , before it was public . Get an airiel photo of it and try to get as far back in as you can . There used to be some old fields back in parts of it that are now just weed patches , should be good ! Good luck .
