Was this last weekend in Missouri great or what? I saw deer moving all day long. This weather has got the bucks fired up even though the does are a few weeks away from being ready. I found a ton of scrapes this weekend. Probably a youngster getting anxious.

Anyway, saturday morning started out around 28 degrees. I was visited 1st off by a big ol' raccoon getting back late from a night of carousing. A little while later the squirrels behing me started going nuts!! I turned around and watched a pretty, dark brown bobcat walk thru and pass nearly under my stand.

Next, a little 8 pt. passed thru just out of range. I grunted at him and he took off quick. I found out later why. (pics to follow.)
Then a big doe started making her way up towards my stand and with a newly aquired doe tag in my pocket, I decided to take her. I'm a little embarrased to admit I shot her at 38 yards, but she only went about 50 more. It was a really good day.

I'm going to shoot 1 more doe and then I'm in Big Buck mode for my hunt with a certain Matthews shooter that's coming up. I don't know if I'm going to be able to please him though. Every pic I send him, he wants something bigger! :D You wouldn't think a guy from Texas would be so picky!! :new_rofl:

This is probably why the 8 point left so quickly when I grunted at him. One of these two have probably been pushing him around a little. These two have potential!

I know nothing gets passed anyone on here, when I changed the batteries, I forgot to set the time on my camera.

Does this mean you judged her for 45 and got lucky :D :new_rofl:

Man those are some good looking pics, you are sure to have fun in a couple weeks. Pics like that make it a lot easier to stay in the stand :D

Good luck Jack and good job on that doe :icon_thumleft:
