Howdy all.....

I just made a premier investment, and it may be one that lasts me forever.

Let me start by saying that this may not be for everyone, but if you're willing to spend the Cash..... you won't be disappointed.

Many of you are familiar with Pelican cases. These are perhaps the most durable cases on the planet, and come in a variety of sizes. Anything from Binocular size on up. The one that I purchased (and don't have yet but is on the way) is the Pelican 1750. This thing will float in saltwater with a 90 pound load, has a purge valve that will equalize pressure when flying, it has an O-ring which makes the case completely water proof, and is lockable.

I plan to cut out the egg-crate foam to fit my bow, stabilizers, etc. It's large enough to be able to protect my sight, store arrows, etc.

Here's a link to the site. Click on the 1750 and you can get a great look at the case and the specs. It's pretty pricey but it's the best on the planet. When I was in the Military and law enforcement I used a similar case to transport my "tools of the trade" around the world. Not a better piece of equipment on the market.

If anyone is interested in any of these cases, shoot me an e-mail at mjessee@colonialprop.com

or send me a PM. (I'm not looking to spam here skip, just trying to help out the general readership.)

The Case that I purchased will run about $275.00. Like I said..... for the independently wealthy.

Heere's a link to the site...... www.pelican.com

My shooting and hunting partner..... thedarkarcher is a little green with envy..... :x_twisted:

Naw Brother Don...... The mrs. is well taken care of....... more jewelry under the tree  even though a woman with her beauty does not need such decoration....

The only way that I was able to purchase this little bad boy is the gift certificate from my supplier for the $15Large I spent with them this year..... :icon_cheesygrin: So I toss in $75 and get one on the way.....

Gonna come in handy chasing you and SKIP on the ASA trail this year. Now the gorillas handling the luggage on the tarmac won't scare me so bad....... cause this case will pass the samsonite test 8)

Man, if your truck runs into a deep ditch full of water you can paddle that thing to safety Monty.* You tip the scales at what??? 88lbs**

VERY nice case though.* Do you think it will withstand a low yield tactical nuke strike*

LOL, I hope I don't have to find out.....

Gonna be flying to many of the tourneys this year since you moved my shoot up north, but I'm cool with that. We made 6 trips around Nashville on the way home from Superman City cause I can't read signs in construction zones... Took me 14 hours to get home. That's quite enough of that...... especially when I could've flown round trip for $250.00. That's a no brainer....

Since we cross 9 rivers, 197 ponds, and 4,398 swimming pools I figured better safe than sorry...... and it's bigger than the seat cushion I'll be occupying so there you go.

I do have a collection of roaches that I'll throw in with my bow just in case....

LMAO...You may need 'em if you get turned around like that again!* Next time you get lost around Nashville send up a star cluster and I'll ground guide ya into our guest room!!!

There's always a contingency supply of cold ones in the fridge and the backyard range is always hot* 8)

Naw Mrs. A....... that's how I truly feel about her 3 weeks out of the month.....

And I Love her anyway on that 4th week

She's a real winner to put up with me, and trust me...... most of the time, that's a tall mountain to climb  She's a wonderful mother to our two beautiful children, and my first love.

Of course if I had to choose between her and archery........

Like Brad Paisley said...... "Well, I'm going to miss her...."

Seriously, she's a keeper. My best friend. 8)

Expensive Bow case

You need one like that for Bowtechs :D There fragile bows.

I couldnt find the archery case there on thyere web site. Is yours custom built?

SPECTRE

It's the 1750 Dan. Made for tactical rifles. I'm gonna cut out the foam to accommodate the bow. Should be plenty of room for my sight and stabilizers, arrows, etc. 8)

The length should be satisfactory for just about any target bow out there. Might be a tight fit but this thing is a vault. The only thing IMO that would rival the SKB for toughness. :)

UPDATE

My Pelican case arrived yesterday at my office.

When I first saw the size of the box I thought I might be in trouble. The Pro40 that I'm currently shooting has LARGE eccentrics and a TALL brace height.....

But it fit.

I spent about 2 hours cutting foam out this evening. Heere's what is inside the case (snuggled in the cutout portions of the foam....)

BowTech Pro40
Stabilizer and V-Bar system
CopperJohn ANTS sight with scope and LP light system attached
LP Pro Pod
Brunton Epoch Binos
Release Bag and compartment

I took pics with my conventional camera (digital cam crapped out on me....) and as soon as the film is developed I'll post pics.

This case is big bucks, but it rocks.

Note to all you APEX shooters that have found out that your SKB cases won't work......... you're jealous aren't you...... :5bomb:

alright specter, we all know that the chances of you actually paying the full $275.00 for this case are remote.
so what did you really get it for? :D
sorry I just had to, where was onebowtie on this one? :-?

OK...... I do a ton of business with Pelican annually so I got a certificate for $200.

I'll leave the math to you guys.....

Been using Pelican cases for years the Secret Services used them for their sniper rifles to protect the President

When you fly and get somewhere you sometimes cannot pen them to airlock

Look for a small screw Silver hidden somewhere turn the screw to let in air and you can open the case

Monte--

Do you know what the case weighed fully loaded?

Those are top-notch cases-- have a few for my firearms and Brunton binoculars. I wonder if you can find some soft egg crate foam to replace what's in the lid? That way you can fit a quiver with arrows.

Thanks,
Chris

Yep.... the egg crate foam is available at your local wal-mart in the camping section.

I cut out sections in the lid to hold my stabilizer system......

Don't know about the total weight though. I found it to FEEL similar to the SKB. But the Pelican case has wheels on one end.... :D

I'm very pleased.

Tink...... the new purge system doesn't utilize the turn knobs anymore. It does it automatically now......

Boy, the stuff you find on eBay. Was searching for some canoeing/boating stuff and ran across this seller. He sells a variety of Pelican cases at reasonable prices. Has the 1750 for $180 plus $23 shipping...not as nice as what Spectre paid...but not bad for us mere mortals* :D

Hey Spectre I out did you just a little. :D I decided to not only get the 1750 for by bow, sight, stabs and release pouch but I went and bought the 1700 for my arrows, binoculars and misc.

03-03-2005, 09:38 AM
So then Spectre, Can you get us a discount? Or are you a dealer and you would make money off a poor starving archery instructor?? :angel12: oh wait, you already saw pictures of my car.... hmmmm ok let me rephrase that. You would take money from a cute little archery instructor :eusa_dance:

Seriously though, can you get us a deal over the local stores or do you benefit? Just wanna know before I wander into a store and buy one. I would rather pay less or atleast help you out.

I have heard great things about these case and I like the idea of cutting up the foam myself, I have never had the heart to do it to my SKB case. I would like to get a case that is deeper but not as wide and long. Since I shoot recurves I can get away with that.

Just buy a Mathews Apex, and it comes with the case! :D
