Good evening all I have some great news. Lumbee Outpost Archery will be holding the 1st Lumbee Outpost Archery Open February 4-6. The shoot times and rules are as follows. Vegas format and all rules will apply.

Friday the 4th you can shoot at 8:00pm

Saturday the 5th you can shoot at 12:00pm or 3:00pm, this will allow archers that live out of town the chance to make the drive. At 6:00pm Lumbee Outpost Archery will feed ALL shooters, and they are planning a very nice meal. 7:00pm they will start a PRO/AM event. Once again you will shoot Vegas rules, but the you will shoot as a team (both scores count). There will be a payback, but we are unsure right now what that will be. Once we get feedback from the PRO’s we will post it. Bottom line, we want the Amateurs to be afforded a chance to shoot with some of the best shooters in the country.

Sunday the 6th, PRO’s will shoot a second round, both rounds will be scored. The first round can be shot on any of the above dates and times, but the final round will be shot on Sunday only. Shooters with a total score of 600 will go into a shoot off. If there are no 600’s shot it will be won by highest score, counting X’s for tie breakers. I would like to give you an example. Say we have three PRO’s that all shoot 600’s, they will automatically be 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, however they will shoot off for their place.

There will be money paid back in both the Amateur and PRO classes. Entry fee will be $20.00 for the Amateurs and $50.00 for the PRO’s. The pay back for the Amateurs will be determined by the amount of shooters that reregister. The PRO class payback will be as follows.
1st 1,000.00
2nd 500.00
3rd 300.00
4th 150.00
5th 50.00

This money is guaranteed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BOWTECH, I am in the 82d ABN Division at Fort Bragg, NC. Jacksonville, I have shot there several times. The indoor classes are Open and Pro. Open class will pay 20 bones and the PRO class will pay 50. Scoring will be done by NFAA rules. Small circle counts as 10 with the X being inside that, your arrow must touch the line to be counted as the higher score. If you would like more details you could go to the NFAA site and look up the rules. Hope you make to the shoot.

HEY TECY29, im just a mere 3d amatuer shooter, and of average ability......so i guess for shooting spots i would have to sign up in the pro class now wouldnt i to keep it fair????? after all, a mere average 3der can be a top notch spottie....we all know that....

just thought we should get clarification on this matter before someone gets accused of sand bagging :P

Rangeplayer,

I see that it said Open and Pro.* How about us pin shooters, or do spot shooters have to shoot scopes?* Just curious.* Also, how do I register and with whom?* It is looking to be a 75% chance I'll be there.

Hey there, you can shoot what ever you bring. I guess I didn't see that last line there sorry. Are you coming?

Saying from Kward, guy's will you spot me some points? I don't think so! It would be one thing if she would show up. But I think she is running scared. She likes beating up on the lawn boy instead. Bring him with you, we (I) won't laugh or anything. lololololololo

ok...just got home from the first day of the shoot....had a great turnout.....

first of all....lumbee outpost is a fantastic archery shop.....this shop is definately a shooters shop....they have one of if not thee nicest indoor ranges i have ever been too (the barn could learn a thing or two)and they are working on completing a 40-45 yard indoor 3d range.....

this shop has a infant-toddler center for the very young children to play in....and it has a larger youth-teenage game room to entertain the kids when they are tired of shooting while mom and dad continue to shoot :D

back to the tourney.....the folks putting on the shoot....johnny and jim are first class hosts....they are feeding the shooters, familys, locals, and the many fans watching in the stands behind the shooting lanes....pretty cool ha, thats right, there were fans there....plenty of locals came out to see and learn about this archery tourney.......

as the tourney was beginning the shops owners pointed out the sign in back that paid tribute to all the local establishments that donated sponsorships to help fund and put this shoot on.....take note archery shop owners.....there were plenty of local business's that helped to sponsor this....which is paying out $1000 to first, 500 second and i dont know after that (cuz the way i see it...ill be collecting one of those payouts :D)

we shot a vegas round today and will do again tommorrow.....there were 3 shooters in the open pro class that fired off 300 rounds today.....

1st- rangeplayer 300 21x
2nd-richard leftwich 300 20x
2nd-kward 300 20x
3rd-mel shrewsbury 299 18x
4th.....we have a whole slew of shooters with 298's including OBT :D with 19x's......and thats with an 8 (darn crazy eights)

so as we all go into tommorrow's final round.....its anybodys ballgame.....is tommorrow going to be a first in archery.....is a woman going to beat the men, as she knows, its US all 25 of us men, against HER....and believe me people.....those line calls WILL BE three against one :)

great shooting and lots of fun......stay tuned...final round results tommorrow....

I just wanted to piggy back on OBTs' earlier post. They have to have one of the best indoor ranges I have seen as well. I totally enjoyed everyones company and enjoyed shooting my first ever Vegas spot shoots. Kim and the gang offered up a first rate tournament with some good grub to cap it off.

Rangeplayer, sure was nice to finally meet you and the crew. Hope you did well today! I look forward to shooting the spots again sometime. This time I will be shooting my pins though. You can have them scopes! My target was dancing all around my lens dot!

Please keep us informed of any tournament coming up! Again great people and great shop!

1st kelly aka kward 600 with 43x's
2nd richard 599 with 48x's
3rd keith aka rangeplayer 598 with 40 x's
4th dave 598 with 39 x's
5th mel dang I don't know what he finished with

Good shooting all and I look forward to shooting with you again soon.

Thank you all for your support. This is a young shop, but without a daught they are on top of their game.
