What is the cheapest recurve I can buy without blowing up in my face? I won't be shooting it a lot. My dealer carries a couple of recurves but I don't know enough about it to pick one out. Did I mention I wanted a cheap one? :D

Hit the classifieds for cheap. Got an idea to narrow down the search? Length, weight? One piece, take-down, etc?

Hmm no idea on what kind or pounds. Maybe 60lbs. I am basically looking for brand names. I know black widow makes them but they are expensive.

If you're buying for just shooting, I'd suggest dropping down to 50#. It's still going to be pretty fast and will be more enjoyable overall. My longbow is 51# and is quite zippy. My old one pulled around 62# at my draw.
Checkmate makes some very affordable models that come highly recommended by many people. www.ChaparralArchery.com makes a new recurve version of my bow that a friend bought and is quite nice too for much less than a Black Widow. Lighter too. BW's are heavy.

Go to tradgang.com and post in the classifieds there, I'm sure someone will have something for you.

Aim makes some nice looking inexpensive traditional bows.
Robbys has them or can get them.

I have seen some Nice Looking Samick Bows, made in Korea, on the "Lost Nation Archery" site. They are some Fine Folks to deal with too! Good Luck!
