I am trying to determine the "average" draw length and draw weight everyone is using. Please post your draw and weight below.

28.5" and I see we are adding draw weights now...... I hunt with 57# in cold weather and 62# (60# maxed out) in warmer weather and properly spined arrows to match.

Skip,

My draw length is 26" and draw weight is 65lbs. I don't hunt. Just 3D and spots in the winter. Also to get the speed for 3D I have to shoot a shorter brace height bow.

65# for hunting but after our last cold weather hunt, drawing the bow was pretty difficult. Next year hunting weight right around 60#

I used to shoot 29" but in the last few years I have shortened my draw legth to 28" at 70lbs.I feel alot of guys arent shooting there exact draw length, and it is always better to go a 1/2" shorter than it is longer, just my opinion.

I'm currently shooting 28.5 @ 61 lbs.

Based on all the people I've set up with bows over here the average shooter is in the 26-28 inch range. The poll is showing the average is a little longer though. I must just have a lot of little fellas.

Good poll skip.

Now my question is this....... Why do all the pro shops (that I frequent anyway) stock such and abundance of 29 - 30" bows?????

Now it's no big secret that I'm a little guy, at a 27" draw and I hunt at 64# and shoot competition at 56#......

Maybe I already have my answer....... most of the people that I help with their bows are shooting a draw length that is waaaayyyyy too long for them. It's generally easy to tell if they have that 4" red stripe on the inside of their bow arm..... and they anchor behind their ear with the peep 1/4" off of their eye

It's amazing how much better they shoot if the bow actually fits them..... :D

spectre..you think you're little, I've had people tell me to watch the Dorf archery videos
Heather's taller than me and she's 5'3", and that's petite.
I'm 5' w/a 24.5 draw. (kids size). That's why I started out with a Bowtech rascal.lol

SPECTRE

Well it's nice to know that I'm taller than somebody LOL

I usually miss out on all the really COOL rides at the amusement parks since I'm not taller than the squirrel......

Don't feel bad about shooting the rascal. I shoot one too........ for spring turkey hunting. Got one set up with a 24" draw..... good turkey medicine..... Yes, I look like a circus freak when shooting it but I can draw it easily while sitting with very little movement. And when you've got the decoys set at 20 yards it works great 8)

Started out with the rascal at the Classic in 2001, everyone thought it was sooooo cute. Gave my matthews fx to my son after, but he's now got the conquest 3. After I have my surgery, then HOPEFULLY, I'll get to shoot again. I haven't drawn a bow back in 16 months. Talk about withdrawals :?
