Using TAP, is it possible to calculate arrow speed with no known marks?

I currently use AA and the program will give me arrow speeds when selecting different shafts, but the speeds that two marks give me is always way different than the "guessed" speeds on the shaft selector.

Reason for the question, is that I am considering a copy of TAP also to compare the two programs and I find AA's book to be very poorly written and organized.........ck

Clay-

TAP actually does an EXCELLENT job of predicting speed of the bow. What TAP uses is a proprietary BPF (Bow Performance Factor) which is derived from a known performace mark such as IBO or AMO.....This number is available right out of the database or by entering a known good speed and arrow weight, Brace and Draw length and weight.....pretty easy, and the manual covers this all very well.

Once you have the BPF all you need to do is build your arrow, measure your AMO draw, brace weight and enter these into the program, select calculate everything and TAP does the rest.

IT is pretty common for TAP to get the speed within +-1-2 f/s of a known accurate chrono!!!

Tony,

Thanks for your response. I have noticed that you work very hard to help your users. I just ordered the program and look forward to its arrival.....................ck
