So,
how do you shoot off the string.
Like I said in another post, when I switched to 3 fingers below the nock, none above, my consistancy went up and I hit where I was aiming more consistantly.
Just wondering.

5 below! Hey, I'm a Jarhead so just getting my paw around the string is a challenge.
2 under mostly, but play with 3 under fairly often.

I shoot 2 below and 1 above split because that is how I learned and I am used to it. I also play with 3 below sometimes depending on the weight of the bow.
I learned to shoot using the Apache Draw...(3 Under) Seemed more comfortable to me. I believe that it's not a legal draw for competition purposes. ( I could be wrong)...
Skip
Skip I believe that 3 below is legal in NFAA or it was when I tried it. I currently shoot with two below middle and ring. I alos start my draw with three one above and two under. Of your fingers the index is the most sensitive so by using the middle and ring you will have less control over the sting.

When I do play around with the recurve, I have one on top and 2 down under :xn_cheesygrin:

Sage,
I learned to shoot 3 below from Rick Welch using his two point anchor and have never looked back.
I feel, it's the more forgiving and accurate way.
The main advantage to split finger, imo, is you have better control of your arrow in a hunting situation.

I shoot 3 under, but mostly because I can't keep the arrow on the rest if I use the split 1 over 2.

I voted for other since i shoot 2 below.
When I started and for many yrs I shot Olympic style - 1 above, 2 below.
Recently I went to 2 below (indicator and middle), with the ring finger just touching the string so the hand is more relaxed.
Before that I tried drawing with 3 split and just letting the ring finger out of the string during aim/release (for split I use a tab with a spacer).

I shoot Mediterranean style myself (two under one above). I tried three under ( Apache) but I kept looking down the spine of the arrow almost like trying to site the darn thing instead of focusing on my target. Oh well what da you do?
If you get a custom bow built for yourself remember to tell them what method you shoot so they can tiller the bow correctly for you.
Shoot the way you deem best for yourself.
Out for now

3 under................. seems to be more Accurate for me that Split Fingers. At least it works for me so far.
