This past weekend, we had a chance to shoot the new MacKenzies. That leopard is gonna be something to behold with all his spots. The weather was a little cool and while the targets pulled better than "old" Mackenzies, they weren't Rhinehart pull. Everybody applied lube (CXL lube or Woody's) and the pull was MUCH better! I think everybody needs to pay close attention to the arrow pullers this year because some folks have a tendacy to pull from the top and with these targets not pulling as easily, your shaft could get bent (then you'd hit the next target instead of the one you're shooting, lol).
The targets look great, the 12's are in the same place as the old ones were and they're decent sized. Once you remember to lube up, you should enjoy them. A tube of lube can save a lot of time, aggravation and your arrow shaft! The BEST thing about '05 is NO Turkeys! Yippeeeeeeeeeeee

What, no football turkeys at 45 yards!
I call foul, or lack of fowl!
I guess a girl needs lube to pull arrows!
Just kidding, I'm glad we are back on McKenzies, though I agree, you can't get better target life or ease of pull than the Rineharts.

Gander I haven't heard that but it could be. With the ASA using McKenzie's most clubs will eventually switch over to McKenzie's and that could leave Rinehart with no market. I have heard that there will be some Rinehart 100's next year though so who knows. Hope he doesn't close because in the long run it will hurt the shooters and the ASA. If McKenzie has has no competition they can name their price.

I talked to John this past fall and he said McKenzie's offered to buy him out but he refused, also his 2005 schedule is posted already. It would seem to me that if he were gong out of business he would of taken advantage of the offer, but who knows !!!

When you say you were shooting the NEW Mckenzie's do you mean you were shooting ones similar to what we will shoot in Gainesville? The reason I ask is that I spoke to McKenzie last week and they say that the "new" McKenzie with the core systems (similar to Rineharts) will not be availible until the Gainesville shoot and all will not be ready then. About half will wait until Kinder, LA. Just windering if the ones you shot had cores?
By the way if your club wants to buy a used range from McKenzie in Gville you need to put your name on a list. Call De Anne at 888-279-7985.

I hope they have improved them I don't like using the lube and for the price of targets you shouldn't have to use a wrecker to pull the arrows.

I hope it was just a rumor also I like mckenzies and rineharts and we need these companies so the prices dont get any higher.

The new targets we shot didn't have the cores in them. They were the regular Macs with the Pro 12's in them, but not with the cores. Same new targets and same pull otherwise. Sorry if I caused confusion on that. :?
