Ok I know this is an archery site but I went to a South Texas ranch that don't allow bowhunting. Plus this sight needs the posts. LOL
Got this 10 pt last a week ago Monday. First use of a gun on a deer in 3 years. Made me a little nervous having not shot in awhile.

As long as you enjoyed it there is nothing wrong with using a gun.

"a South Texas ranch that don't allow bowhunting".......
WHY???

Cornfed they don't want to have to track through the cactus, mesquite etc. Throw in warm October weather and diamond back rattlers and there you have it. Much of that country would be difficult to walk through much less track in. There are places that could be set up to bowhunt but few. If I go there next year I'm going to push to do it with my bow.

Ah, well that's cool! I was afraid that they had had to many bad expereinces and didn't want to risk it again? So the bowhunter name wasn't hurt than? That certainly does sound like some rough country!

Thanks Jerry.
No the bowhunter name is ok there. They just don't want to deal with it. Rough, beautiful country.
Cant blame them about the rattlers
