I have had so much fun getting my son setup with his BowTech Rascal I decided I needed a new Bow. I will be purchasing the BowTech Allegiance for myself, if I like the way it shoots. I will be using this bow for some indoor, 3D, and Hunting. I really don't want to have a specialized bow for each discipline. I want to have one good bow that will do everything. I will need some suggestions on setting this up with accessories. Have fun at my expense. If you were going to setup this bow up whith the purpose I described, what rest, sight, release, peep, and stabilizer would you use. I don't know if I should go with a dropaway rest as I dont want to replace the blades for different events. I want one all purpose bow. Have Fun!

What are the Spec's on the Allegiance. Did it take the place of the Pro 40 ? The closest dealer to me doesn't have a clue to what the new line will be. Are they going to have a bow with a 37"- 38" axle length with the new cams ?

The Allegiance VFT has a 33 3/4" axle to axle, 7" brace.
Of the bows with the EqualizerCam System you'd may want to look at the Old Glory since it has a 37 1/2" axle to axle, 7 1/4" brace or perhaps the Constitution that has a 40 1/4" axle to axle, 8 1/4" brace.

Thanks BowTech Shooter. Either one of those bows sound good. I've got a 30" draw so the Constitution sounds real good. What kind of speed are they claiming for the Constitution ? The Equalizer Cams have an 80% let off, don't they ?
Sorry for hi jacking your thread BowTech Dad :)

What dealer you talkin about Ben? Plano or ? I'd like to look at one of those Constitutions too. Maybe get this year's Pro-40 left over or used too. Dunno yet. Too many questions yet to answer, but I'm getting the itch.

Tejas, Davis'd over in Weatherford is about the nearest one to me but he must be "out of the loop" because when I called him he said he wouldn't have any new BowTech until after the first of the year. When I asked if he had the catalogs, he wasn't sure. :) There is a dealer in Stephenville but I haven't called him yet. He may have some '04 Pro 40's left over. I give him a call and get back to you.

Yeah, sorry for the hi jack BowTech Dad...
I've been communicating with BowTech Dad about his son getting a Rascal and I believe dads as giddy as the boy in this case... Good job dad!
Preacher, The EqualizerCam System had adjustable let off 65%-80% similar to the Infinity design cams.

That's ok! Pat, I have pretty much sure how I am setting up my know bow, I was just looking to start some converstion. I know Darkside already has his boy's Rascal at his shop. I might just have to give Derek a call today and see if it was delivered. If not, I guess I will be waiting until next week. I do know there will be a very good chance we will be coming home with two new bows. I should have asked for express shipping :D

Thought I would chime in too since I just registered and consider myself one of the "Bowtech crowd". :)
I am really looking forward to trying out that Old Glory. Specs sound awesome and with my draw length the bow should provide both speed and accuracy.

Frank, Frank, Frank, Frank, Frank... I thought you of all people would know better that to make a statement like that. As you darn well know, the bow will certainly provide the speed you need (especially at your draw length) but I've got news for ya if you didn't already know, YOU have to provide the accuracy my friend...
BTW, the bow may provide you some forgivness you need to make more accurate shots... :D

Has anyone shot both the Liberty & Old Glory that can give us/me a comparison between the two? I'm currently shooting a Liberty @57 lbs, 26.5" D/L. I'm looking at buying another Bowtech to have as a backup bow - just in case. My wife says that's a pretty weak excuse to buy another toy - uh bow - because she doesn't understand the importance of having a backup.  The dealer doesn't have the new bows in stock yet. Thanks.

BowTech Dad, I use the Copper John sights. I think a good sight for hunting/3D would be the Pro II. Trophy Taker Original rest. AEP stabilizers. I keep going back to my Scott Little Bitty Goose release. Good luck, and let me know how your son's bow works out. I'll be shooting an Old Glory some time soon.

PABowhntr, You the same Frank from PA who's moderates Eders.com Bowhunter Forum? Curious. Haven't been over there for a long time. We talked about a Firebrand bow back then.

I own a Liberty and had a chance to shoot the Allegiance tonight. To say that it's an awesome bow is actually an understatement :D At first, I really checked it out and loved all the new features. They have really out done themselves IMHO. Everything is first class. Than I got to shoot it  WOW! I couldn't believe how much I liked it. I was VERY smooth, and I could really feel NO vibrations at all upon release. I was pretty impressed. I love my Liberty, but you guessed it. I'll have to buy one of these.I would encourage everyone to try one out. I think you'll be surprised by it. Is it hype? Not a chance. There's no doubt in my mind they have the best thing going. Just my 2 cents.

I got to shoot a "defender" this weekend....All I can say is "AWESOME", rock hard wall, draw was "slightly" more harsh than my X-tec at the same wt (65#). The bow "felt" longer than 31 1/2". I would like to shoot the Allegiance and old glory to see how they feel. 8) BUT, bottom line, I want one, all I've got to do is figure out how to pay for it !
BTW, I'm NO expert shooter, but I was shooting 1.5-2" groups @20 yds with NO peep sight installed. That tells me it was a pretty forgiving bow :D (at OVER 300 fps 8)  :D
