I been thinking
Can we make the BRS a Summer Archery Camp for Kids???????
Many kids are asking if there is a summer archery camp and well why don't we just make that happen!
We Would have fun with these kids and a have safe place that parents wouldn't mind letting teens go.
and Dee Falks, could we offer the NASP instructors course each year with this????? That would bring many students and wan-na-be teachers.
The BRS is a Family of Archers that is building a new way of having fun while shooting archery and I can't think of any better way of doing that, then inviting The Youth of America to learn from US.......

Offering the NASP Instructor course each year is NO PROBLEM
As far as the camp goes, I'll have 11 Genesis Bows, 10 Doz arrows and 5 round targets, plus a safety net and bow racks. Figure out the deatils and let's get after it Hood.

The BRS is a Family of Archers that is building a new way of having fun while shooting archery ...
Same as ASN!
This is a very good idea, which slowly rounds up all the aspects of fun and quality in archery.
My club, the PSK 1955, operates toward the same goal. We're not after producing the World's Best Archers, which usually end up as gladiators and entertaining robots, but we try to interest the young people, an alternative which helps them learn about their inner beings, and in the company of spiritually clean, and ethically proper people.
Way to go, Hood!

Hood,
This is going to take some planning. I'm up for helping and supplying some equipment, but we need to get some guidelines before we issue a tri-state invitation.
What's the charge?
What's the agenda?
How many people are going to dedicate their day (or part of it) to this?
Where will it be set up?
How long will it last?
What is the overall goal?
How much time does each archer get with the equipment?
How much instruction does each archer get before/during shooting?
This is a great idea, but it might be a year before it's time. After I've spent most of he night thinking about it, I almost believe that we should run the instructor course this year and enjoy the BRS/ASA Tri-State Qualifier and next year plan a full blown youth archery clinic/camp at the BRS.
I'm up for whatever everyone decides, but I need just enough me time to win a crispy from your shaggy tail :new_rofl:

Hood...great idea...although I don't know if you have time to pull it off for this year...but definitely time for planning for next year...
Well...I know I'd be willing to help...I don't have much experience...but I can do what I'm told...most of the time :D Might be able to take the Nasp course this year depending on what time it is...will definitely take it if you need more peopel to make it feasible...
I know Louis (9 yrs old) would like the camp...been meaning to let him try a Genesis bow as he currently has a short DL...shorter than most compounds go to....17 inches or so...just haven't had the time lately...

The camp is a great idea. We need 5 folks to runthe instructor course and it runs from 8:00-4:00 on Sunday.
That will give us a great cadre for the camp next year so we can split up the load. Plus we will have time to plan bunches of fun activities for the youngsters.

YES it does look like a go for next year, this year it wont happen because we need to look at a private area of the camping area for the kids to camp and be watched, you know we can't have cooler of beer in there camp :D so I been told.....I'm sure we can work this in to our party and have enough a funner time...........
But like I have said, Planning is what makes things better...so let's try and plan a summer archery camp for kid and do it better then it has ever been done...so we'll meet at the BRS this year and work on this too.........
Thinking hurts the team only when one thinks.............................
