Anyone tried shooting with glove such as these http://www.damascusgear.com/section/products/shooting/shooting.html or something similar? The 3 fingered archery gloves that most places sell seem to rigid and I cant feel the strings. Any recommendations?

Hi rogerWILKOW :) ...those look a bit hefty for a shooting glove...I've seen a number of folks use that type of glove on the hand which "holds" the bow...but never seen anyone try to pluck the string with something like that...

...a buddy of mine who goes by the name of FESTUS(Jim Estes) uses a real nice 3 finger glove when he shoots his traditional equipment that is soft and supple and he can really get a good "feel" of the string with that...I believe it is made of deerskin??...

...I'll try and get a hold of him tomorrow and get him to come and relay what kind of glove/tab he uses...

...also a fella by the name of Troy Carpenter(I think) uses this same style...he shoots fingers with a compound...

...both of these fella's shoot the ASA PRO-AM circuit and are some of the very best shooters in their classes...

...be patient...HELP "will" arrive 8) ...

The one I use believe it or not is made by PSE. It's got a nice feel and has held up well. Not too soft and not hard either. You can feel the string. I gave it one light coat of mink oil to start it out and darken it a bit. Worth checking out.

...RogerWILKOW...I just ran into my buddy FESTUS today at the ATA show...and he uses the same glove as TEJAS RAZ...the PSE glove 8)

...so if you want a glove that the BEST use, like FESTUS and RAZ...then get that PSE glove and

Thanks for them flowers and info from "The Man" there good-buddy DeereMan! PDT_Armataz_01_34

There is another very nice glove I'd love to try out made by American Leathers called the Big Shot Glove. It's pricey compared to others, but cheap compared to some of the releases out there. :x_rolleyes: It's all hand stitched and heavier than most. That's cordura for the fingers. Out to be especially good for those who pull big bows! Here's a pic --->

Here's another interesting one for those who hunt. Think it comes out of Alaska Bowhunting in Anchorage? Looks like another one I might "have to have"!

One of the aspects of using a glove as opposed to a tab , (and it's worth considering ) is that it's a good idea to change a glove frequently. As you shoot using a glove the bow string forms a groove or a crease along the first joints of the fingers. When you come to release the arrow the string has to pass over and come around the groove, making the shot a little awkward. Having said that, deer skin gloves would be my recommendation for you to try. Good luck
