Jerky, Brats,breakfast & summer sausage

went to the butches warehouse and spent 26 bucks

got enough seasons to do 200 pounds

got a grinder and WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MAN! this stuff is good!!!!!!

and easy, It's so good I just kept the backstraps and ground all the rest (5 deer)

I'm grinding. grilling and frying all at the same time. got to test the mix...hehe

over the years I have worked at all the places in Omaha that process deer and I would never take a deer in to one of them.........................
It's a rip off to start with, The butcher keeps the best cuts and throw all the bad scrap meat in your sausage and you never know it...............

I got over 200 pounds of "Grade A" deer sausaged made up and I know whats in it....................

Yep, we now do our own also. My Dad, brother and I went in and bought a grinder, stuffer, and mixer. After throwing most of two deer away last year that we had "processed" we decided to handle it ourselves. It isn't real hard, just takes time. We have made some breakfast sausage and some polish sausage that we smoked. We use the whole deer, except for backstraps and tenderloins, for sausage and ground meat. We mostly use the ground meat for chili. Now we have almost no waste and we know what we eat!.. It's a good feeling to know that you handled the deal from the kill to the table also.

We do our own to the stage of having all the meat for sausage etc boned out. Have done my own pan sausage but never tried link.

My wife and I do our own also, we de-bone all the meat and trim off all the fat, We just made some summer sausage and it is yummy. You dont get your meat back from the processor and they dont de-bone or trim off fat and I have worked in one and they throw all the meat or scraps in a pan from other deer and grind it up and divide it.
