I'm looking into getting some x-cutter for the up coming 3d season. So my guestion is what size nibbs would be best for a 29.5" arrow. 140 grain nibb would make it over 376 gr arrow. I'm thinking that is to heavy for what I need. Any thoughts?

I'd try to maintain about a 10% FOC. Not sure what exact weight that would be for your Set Up. This might vary due to the nock / bushing / vane set up you prefer.

PDP makes an adjustable weight point so you can change the front end weight if necessary 8)

What poundage are you shooting?? Depends...if you are shooting decent pounds the X cutters with 100gr points would work great. When I need to be at 280 fps for ASA type stuff, I use the x cutters. For 3D IBO style I use the 22 series with 80 gr. points. I will weigh a couple of shafts for you tonight and give you some weight differences.

If your looking for something lighter, take a look at the Ultralite Series 22 shafts. My finished arrow weight is around 330 gr. and FOC is 11.2%.

Ring is right. It depends on your application/intended use. This sport is so diverse with set-ups yet we are all trying to achieve the same goal.....perfection. Are you shooting spots or 3d or both? Once you determin that then you make your decision. Most people I deal with do go with the PDP adj point because they can tweak with FOC. They are a great product and they are available with a 50grain base point and adj weights that start at 5 gr, then 10gr and 30gr and 50grain increments. The are very versatile point and not that expensive when considering what you are getting...... :)

I'm shooting a Ovation (60-70 limbs) and would like to keep the draw weight low. 30.5 draw so I figure a 29" to a 30" arrow. Need to get ASA speeds. Thanks in advance.

At your draw length and bow you should be able to easily handle 100 grains and up. I shoot a 28" Ovation on the 65% let off slot. I shot 68ish lbs last year with Gold Tip XCutters weighing about 320grs or so and got 282 out of it. I shot 80 grs up front.

The good thing about the GT tips (rather than using 2314 tips) is that you can play with the screw in weight system. I shot 50 gr nibbs with 30 grain screw ins. You could get some of the 90 gr nibbs and play with the 10/20 or 30 gr points. They have a tool that goes down through the nock hole to adjust the weight.
