Tex sorry I didnt see this sooner !! Soybeans are my food plot of choice !Not only do deer eat them through the summer but ifin they make it to maturity and it gets cold man the deer and turkeys hit them hard !!
Soybeans are high protein . When processed the bean meal is 48 % protein .
My problem is the deer at our farm eat the bean plants before they can mature !!!
I have seen bean fields that had not been harvested , we get a snow, hundreds of deer and turkeys tearin it up ! Nice place for a stand !!:D

If you plant it they will come! Deer love soybeans! Like 4x said they will not leave a bean field alone. you might try putting in strips of forage oats to take some pressure off the young soybeans. Works around here in northern illinois. dcl

Careful Bob. those deer will be too heavy to drag out if they eat all those turnips and wheat. lol
