Looking at the footed recurves made by Blacktail. They are great looking bows and at a reasonable price considering other custom prices.

Haven't shot 'em, but they're beautiful bows. Even nicer than a Martin.

Wow! Those things are gorgeous. One of the finest looking bows I've seen.

Nope, never seen those before.

I have looked through all the pictures in their gallery and I love the looks on all of them....couldn't find one I didn't like.* 12 month wait/build time on them too.* I sure do like the looks.* Makes me think about selling my Zipper and putting some money towards one of these. Talk about detail...look at these limb tips!

Ryan, those prices seem really low to me if the bows are anywhere near as nice as they look.

X-Ring, if you find somebody you know that has tried one of these bows....please post about it on here.

Those are some SWEET looking takedowns! 8)

Ryan,

Price out a Blackwidow lately?? And those are rough cut on a CNC woodmaster. Great bow, but they all look the same and cost around $800 new. This is a true custom bow...every single one looks different and they all look great. I am seriously considering selling my Zipper and getting one of these. :D

lol...no i know how much a black widow is

i'm just stating th facts....yes i'ts a nice bow..but for what you pay for that...

looks don't always mean performance..but if it shoots as good as it looks...then nothing cna touch'em

Well....now that someone agrees with me and has given me permission.... Just have to wait and see. ;)

FYI the top Blacktail runs around $800 here are some other common bowyers and prices:

Black widow - $860
Zipper - $900
Hummingbird Kingfisher - $795

So, really for the quality and finish on these Blacktails...I think they are as reasonable as others. I think it's funny that people will drop $700 on a compound bow without a second thought...but won't on a traditional bow. 8)

i love mine..and it only cost 400...

and i'm tickled pink!

Got to chuckle about that thought... It's been through my mind numerous times also. Even more often, they'll gripe about the cost of a package of broadheads after spending hundreds on the bow and accessories... And the broadhead/arrow combo is what actually does the work! Incredible.

P8nt, It may seem high to you, but I'll bet your view changes with time and you'll be looking for one like it in 10 years! Mark it in you book... It'll happen!

you know what you're probably right....but my KEYSONE LIGHT budget has got me sipp'n ripple instead of champaign at the moment...i am glad i had the money to buy my longbow....is an amazing shooter.* I guess i'm scared to say if i shoot one..i'll prolly hafta have....

like shooting a $1400 gat for paintball....falling in love with it...when ya just don't have the money to pick on up at the moment.* or finding out you spent 1200 on a gun....and and it not shoot worth a damn* (done both*)

just get one jon and tell us how great it is...

Jon,

To me, Blacktail and Trails End are the prettiest recurves.

Thanks TR. 8)

Merry Christmas to you too and everyone else !
Here is a pic of the riser of Pat Lefemine's Blacktail.
It's a snakewood riser with some fancy trimmings.
I believe, Pat won it with a bid of $2,100.00 at one of the Traditional events.
It's one of the most beautiful (if not most beautiful) recurves I have ever seen.

My gosh!

I think I'm in love.

Anyone want to buy my Howatt Hunter?

Those bows are beautiful.

Goes to show, you get what you pay for.

They are truely beautiful and works of art.

I've been wanting a black widow, but maybe I need to set my sights higher. :D

Sage,

Set you sights higher than a black widow. Nothing wrong with them...but they run at least $800+ new and are cookie cut out on a CNC. One of these Blacktails will be handmade....the old fasioned way. Just something to be said about that in my opinion. ;)

 OOH, I have never been interested in "stick" bows before...but I guess that is because I have never seen anything like Xring and Sagi-o have posted heere

...I truely enjoy "uniqueness" in many areas of life...

...the photo's that Xring and Sagi-o have offered sure show the "quality" of the "unique" bows they represent...

...all four hooves up for those bows...like Xring, I now sit heere and DROOL =P~ =P~ =P~ over something that looks that fine!!!

I have some buddies down in Oregon who shoot them. They shoot as good as they look, not the fastest but not slow by any means they have very good cast (heavy arrows also). Norm Johnson is one meticulous bowyer, if it's not perfect it's not going out the door!

I'd have to sell some more dive gear to buy one but heck I'd have to sell some gear no matter what anyway (remember driver carries no money, he's married)

As far as pricing well, shoot they're in there with HABU, Dale Dyes bows, OL Adcock (no recurves) just to name a few.
Go for it buy two!!!

Ah yes the Witchery of Archery
Out for now
