Hi

Installed TAP on a Win98 laptop.
Thinking of running a skinned down XP (less than 300 mb) on that same machine now.

Would I need a new liberation key or is it OS independent ?

( I've pestered Tony enough I think )

Peter-

Depends on the version of TAP. Older revs were tied to a couple pieces of hardware AND Windows serial. Now it is just tied to your hard drive.

BUT!!!!

Skinned down windows is risky business for running programs. There are SEVERAL DLL's in windows that the program assumes you should have with a good install of windows. Installing TAP will install all necessary files that you wouldn't normally have with windows but the ones TAP requires might get stripped in your XP light....

You can try but I make no guarantees on this working.

Thanks Tony

I have the latest release:

Here's what I did: To make sure I created another partition on the HD(NTFS), installed xp (the skinny version and dual boot ), started up in XP and installed TAP. No problem, Software code remains the same, lib key works, and TAP is running fine.

So I took the jump, reformatted the thing (NTFS) installed XP and TAP and got another software code.. :-)

Haven't a clue as to why: it worked on the single partition 98 HD, and on the 2 partition 98/ XP version...

So I guess I have to mail you again, sorry

Peter
