Looks pretty saaweeeeeet there Alex! Like that wolfie on the side there.

I'm mostly a trad guy... least I was until these knuckleheads got my cravings for another bow up. :D I like all bows!

Photo#1 I shoot a Chaparral Kaibab Deluxe longbow. 64", 51#@29". It's one of the newer hybrid designs. I like it!

Photo#2 Although I don't shoot this one as much, it's my real stickbow... an Ancient Archery hickory selfbow. 72", 55#@29.5". The other bow in the pic is a Sky Trophy longbow which I gave to Panzer when he came home from Iraq... sort of a payback for getting me into compound shooting. BwaHahahaha!

Photo#3 Next one on my list of stickbows to get is the Saluki Scythian, a slightly modernised asiatic recurve. Maybe their Ibex instead... don't know yet. Something different than everyone else. Who want's to follow the crowd? NOT!

Hello,

very nice looking Bows, Tejas Raz .

I'm mostly a Compound Guy, but i like Trad shooting from time to time. Only sad thing is, that most of the Trad. Archers over here are kind on intolerant. They are only looking at her own Way of Archery, and they are really against Compounds.
Not all are this way, but the most i met.

I like to be in both Worlds, and shooting what i like at the time.

At the moment im waiting for my new Compound, a CSS Encore. The #1 Bow for next Year. This year i had shoot most of the time my Recurve.
Maybe in 07. it will be a Horsebow.

Greetings, Alex

Alex, I think the Trad guys are pretty much similar the world over. Many are the same here in the US are the same way. I can understand having come from the Trad ranks, and at the same time I disagree. I enjoy shooting both disciplines equally.

You can see a number of my other photos down in the Storm Archery Tech Forum on this site. Look for anything to say "Elite" which is their flagship bow, a real sweetheart of a shooting machine! Take a look at it.

I'm aiming for the Saluki probably in 07 too. Archery isn't my only hobby... Not enough time, not enough jingle $$$. :(

I like to shoot any bow any way it can be shot ! Compound fingers or release depends on what mood I am in ! :D But the most fun is in the back yard shooting my longbow !

Has anyone shot those carbons that look like wood ? I need some tough arrows the way I shoot ! Just wondrd how they flew !

You sound like me. The longbow is my favorite hands down. But this last year I've been having a blast diving into the compound scene. It's different, but still fun. I just like pulling strings! Any kind. It's fun to watch the arrow in flight though and that brings you back to the longbow!

Yea, I shoot them all the time Bob. I bought the Blackhawk CarbonWood Vapors. They really do look like wood and they fly great! Strong, haven't broken one... yet. I have lost a couple though. I fletched them with 5.5" shield cut real turkey feathers that I cut with a chopper. Since then, I've been fortunate to get some raw feathers to try my hand at doing the whole thing. Then I've been playing with the twisty TurboNock T-4 nocks now sold by Bohning. They work well too. Bottom line? Love em!

If I find a good deal on some I think Ill try them ! I will just have to put up with the crap about shooting carbon out of a longbow ! Thanks for the info !

I have a couple of Austrian friends that come over and hunt , man talk about longbow shooters ! Joseph makes a nice looking arrow with turkey feathers ! I would like to see the guys face at the airport if they ever searched his bag full of turkey wing feathers !!

Thanks, Tejas. :icon_thumright:
I thought, you might like it.
I use this size pics because places like LW only allow the smaller size pics and I won't have to keep going back and forth to edit them for different sites.
You can click on the icon below each pic, open the file, and roll the wheel forward on your mouse to enlarge the pics a little before distorting them.

Well, since no one else wants to show their bows, here are some of my Dakota recurve by Rick Welch and Sley recurve by Pat Ley, along with my Blackwood bow.
The Dakota recurve is the orange and black micarta riser with Bocote limbs.

I've really had fun with the compounds lately, but there is NOTHING that compares with a well fashioned, wood bow! Some nice ones here, that's for sure! I've seen those Horne bows Ben. A friend of mine has one of his longbows and I caught them with a booth at the Fort Worth Hunter's Extravaganza. Nice folks too!

Well, it may make me an outcast but you would be hard pressed to find me shooting a trad bow. HOWEVER, you will find me making them from time to time. Please pardon the tips and shoddy leather work on the handle, both have been fixed since the photos were taken.

What is it Razor? Looks nice. I'm thinking I'm gonna start stalkin on ebay for a nice... and cheap recurve to play with.

I just talked with a guy from our other Texican site, TBH. He's a compound guy, but has a couple of older recurves he's playing with and trying to get good enough to hunt with. Name's Huntingfool. Maybe he'll post some pics of his "$30 ebay bow!

I thought that was a pretty easy silhouette to recognize... '66 Kodiak Mag...
that broght my total back to 33... I sent a Bear Ranger and a York Crest to a couple kids in California... buddy of mine sent them each a dozen arrows... another friend donated a couple bag targets... the kids are brothers with lukemia...

I kinda thought so, but I'm a longbow guy and the recurves all kinda look alike, ya know? :new_rofl:

I'm thinking that something along those lines would look good in my very small collection.
