How much time do you spend shed hunting each year?

How many have you found in a single day?

I have never found more than 1 shed in a day :x :D

After viewing cornfeds pics and success shed hunting I got a breath of fresh air and am going to hit it Xtra hard this year

Just a lil' bit. All kidding aside, I spend a LOT of time looking for sheds. I start sometime in Feb and don't stop looking until I'm sittin' in the Turkey blind in mid-April. I have a pretty decent collection of sheds but the most I've found in a day was only 7. I have some SERIOUS shed hunting friends that I know have found considerably more than that in a day. You simply would not believe on mans collection around here. In fact, I can't give his name or location because that is one condition we must agree to before he let's us in on his "finds" every spring. I mean, honestly I have seen 100" TYPICAL sides from this guy! Last year I think his strongest typical shed scored 96" and he also found a matched set of 230" non-typ sheds! I don't know how he does it, I swear he was born to shed hunt! Maybe this spring I can get him to let me take some pics! He has large sheets of plywood set up in his basement and they are filled with cataloged and labeled B&C class sheds, just amazing!

I have only found three in my life and those I stepped on in a open field, I have looked for them quite abit in places where I would think they would fall of, never had any luck at this at all. I know other folks in this area that fine them all the time, nice large ones too. I will keep on trying as it is really good scout time anyway.

I go out 3-4 times a day starting in February till Turkey season, I have found 3 in one day and one was a matching set.

In Utah shed hunting is almost like a religion. We have a opening date for shed hunting, and sheds cannot be picked up before the opening. The hard core shed hunters find the elk and deer sheds before the opening, and then come opening day it is a race to see who can get to them first. I have several freinds who are very active shed hunters, and they will take a week off work to watch a 380 plus bull just for a chance to see him drop and go after him. I ahve freinds who hunt twice as hard for sheds as they do for live animails.

I usuall start about Feb, and continue till March sometime. I'll usually spend 100 hours or so a season. The best day i've ever had shed hunting was a few years back, i found three perfectly matching sets to a 120'' 10pnt, about 90inch 10pnt, and a small 5pnt.

I am trying to get my buddy Jody Hadachek sign up on here to share his shed hunting expertise, he has an outstanding collection.

I usually start in February and go through greenup. Hours spent looking would be in the hundreds. I did manage to find 5 sheds in a 15-minute period this past spring.

I like to start as soon as they start dropping, and hope we do not get alot of snow. We usually are out looking as early as the first or second week of Jan. Me and the Full Draw Crew usually hunt for sheds pretty hard on the weekends right up until like Cornfed said "Turkey time". It's a lot of fun, and its something that everyone can enjoy. Heck my sister loves looking and she does not even hunt. It's nice to have that extra set of eyes. Look for sheds all day and have a little barbeque after, or shoot up at the range afterwards.
