I posted about buck forge oats a few days ago.
What others are a good food sources for winter plots.
We can get pretty cold up here in the winter so something that is not easily frost damaged.
Looking for some opinions. Thanks.

Try turnups. A buddy of mine uses them mixed with red clover and rape in his food plot. The deer will eat the turnup leaves even after the frost, but they will dig the turnups out of the ground all winter long.
I use Biologic full draw and it holds up really well after the frost as well. I live in WI so it gets pretty cold during the season, and I also try to keep the deer out of my food plots until the plants are established enough to withstand the amout of deer feeding in it because my plot is pretty small.
Hope this helps

CORN..... it doesn't seem to matter at all what is planted or available to our area deer they will always seek out the cornfields EVERYDAY! It never fails, shoot a deer in IL and examine his stomach contents while field dressing him and it will always be full of corn even if the animal is a couple miles away from the nearest fields! 8)

corn is great to hunt int the early season..........but do hunt after it is cut?
My Imperial clover plot has been getting a lot of attention lately. Most of the summer it grew and wasn't touched but now that most of the natural ofrage is gne the deer are all over it. It's still green and the deer are still comming.

Over the years we have tried everything I think! :( We have finally decided that plain old oats is the best in our part of Texas. Wheat will work also but it has a lot of stalks and is harder to clean up when it is time to replant. We use oats in Spring and Fall. This year the deer had so much natural browse they just now are starting to hit the oats. The extra time left alone sure did make for some pretty green plots.
