It's time to plan the 2005 Bragging Rights Shoot.
Last year was very successful and a lot of fun. We want even more archers to have a chance to relax and enjoy the company of our fellow archers.
Date: May 14th
Location: Pershing State Park Brookfield, Missouri
40 Targets
Family Enviroment
This will be a FUN shoot, with good people, and great food.
Shoot for one nice award and BRAGGING RIGHTS.
We hope to have a few sponsors this year.
The club shoot will be held on Sunday May 15th. The Sunday shoot will be marked yardage.
We will add more details as we go. I think WR may have a few tricks up his sleeve I know MOBUCK is a camper. I'm sure BODEEN will be there to defend his title. Will it stay in Missouri another year?
All input is appreciated, so let's hear it.

Good food
Great folks
Just good allround good fun time.
Missouri archers know how to put on a fun shoot.
Walleye Joe better bring plenty. That stuff was good.
Now dont think that trophy is leaving the state, they have some shooters.
Hopefully I can make it again this year.

Thanks DB.
You know everybody wants to see you there, again.
Need to find you a chauffer. Make the trip seem shorter.
I would help Walleye Joe out, but fishing is for the summer time. I don't chop ice when I fish

Like I said on AT, that weekend doesn't work for curs1 and me either. My students get out May 21 and there is NO WAY I can get off for a few days to fly out for a weekend. We were planning a trip to fly back to MO, but Memorial Day works better.

I am sure it will be June 18-19. It works for a lot of people and the weather is not as big of a gamble. Should be nice.
I appreciate everyones offer to help. As the date draws near we will have more details.
Camping will definitely be a priority. The shooting is fun, but the time around the campsite is the best. This is when you really bond with your friends.
Reservations will be a must this year! I doubt there will be any vacancies.
If anyone has any questions, please PM myself, or WR.

The only problem I see is getting away on Father's Day....the wife may not like that.

What should I bring other than the 3 B's (Bow, Beef, Beer* :D)?

The entry will be $12.* I am not sure about the camping fee.* I did not camp last year, but stayed late each night.* I will definitely be camping this year,* that's the best part.
I would say reservation's will need to be made early.* It would be nice if we could reserve the entire primitive camping area.
Heck, bring the wife and kid's with you.* It's a beautiful park.* They can swim, hike, play at the playground, fish, or shoot the course.
This is definitely a family event, designed to have FUN and make new friends.* Even the camp fire stories are G Rated =D>* *For the most part :)*

T.H.E Deerman Kansas State Championships -Concordia, Ks. - June 11,12 - My Range, have to be there
I.B.O. 2nd Leg of Triple Crown - Mckean, Pa. June 11,12
T.H.E Deerman Oklahoma State Championships - Cherokee, Ok.* - June 18,19
North Texas Regional ASA shoot June 18,19
ASA Metropolis Metropolis, IL June, 24,26* * *<----this* one might hurt a bit , roughly 8 hours away.
I.B.O. 3rd Leg of Triple Crown - Nelsonville, Oh. July 8,10
I hate to say this Arky, WR, Mobuck....but i think it looks to be a late july shoot again? that date really seemed to work for alot of people last year.
I personally don't like using "father's day" on a shoot date as many fathers, mothers, kids , so on and so forth, have places to be other than shooting archery.
I plan on helping more this year instead of just "starting* the Idea" , lol.
Let me know what you guys think, we might get lucky again this year :o

Okay guys and gals. :D
This is your shoot.
You tell us what works for you. Of course we would love for everyone to be able to attend, and will do our best to arrange this. It is going to be very difficult to find one date that will work for everyone.
We have started this thread this early, in hopes of getting input, as to the desired date. I should not have posted a date at the beginning. That was my mistake.
Please tell us what works for you.
We try to have the BRS the Saturday before one of our club shoots. I will post our shoot dates. If none of the dates will work, suggest another.
I know we can come up with a date that will work for the majority.
As for using "fathers day" as a shoot date, this is normally the clubs biggest shoot of the year.

Wow,
* *This sure sounds like a lot of fun!!! I haven't shot a bow in ten years and I'm ready to go!!** After the holidays, I'll have to get my bow set up and start practicing. I was supposed to start in July, but my dad had major surgery to help relieve pressure on his brain from a*stroke he had suffered earlier in the year...needless to say, priorities first...I owe my dad a lot for putting up with me...
Anyhow, is there a link to the campground...did I miss it in one of the previous posts? My kids will be almost 6 and 9 by that time...is there stuff for them to do there? Actually, the range here is trying to start a kids class if there is enough interest, so my wife added his name to the list....so he may want to shoot with the big boys* Also, is there electric at these sites? I have a 29ft trailer, although I'm not sure if I want to run 3hrs up to WI to haul it down to MO as it would add an extra six hours to my trip each way...just not sure if the wife and kids want to 'camp'. Maybe I can get them a hotel and I'll just sleep in a chair...did that many times in my younger days when I was a little 'too affected' by the alcohol to set up the tent * Any hotels nearby?
Let's see, Jan to June/July gives me about six months to practice...not sure if I'll be ready for a tournament (never entered one in my life, only shot to challenge myself) but then again, sometimes I feel my purpose in life is to be the bad example that people learn from  :P... but I'd be happy to watch, help cook, keep score (hehehe...an easy way to earn some ones...signed or not), etc . As for signed ones...not sure if I'll be ready for that either, but then again, after I clip a 1/4 inch off everyones vanes/feathers and change the weight of their points while they sleep, I might be willing to take some chances... :-k [-o< :-k [-o< [-(

There is a Best Western in Brookfield, MO.* About 5 miles away.* Most will be camping in the primitive campground.* There are about 20 sites for RV's and 19 primitive sights.* This is where all the excitement takes place *
The showers and facilities are excellent, I did not hear any complaints.* Very nice place.
All the info. for the park can be reached on the first page.* WR posted a link to last years BRS.*
Once a date is established, a new thread will be started with all of the information.
July 9-10 does look good.* We will give it some time and see if we get more input.
imanut2,* This will be a great shoot for you and your family.* Very relaxing and enjoyable. If they don't want to shoot they can enjoy the boardwalk, fish, swim, play at the playground or Hood can tell them stories.* Guaranteed to entertain \:D/

imanut2...I'm sure Walleye Joe will have somthing to say to you when he see's your post :)....the 04 BRS was Joes first ever 3D shoot 8) He was a BLAST to shoot with, of course I didn't get to shoot with him til dat two :( and he was a PRO by that time :D
Heres a link to the Park info (if it works??) Pershing Park Info (http://Pershing Park Info) Go back to page one and look for the links I posted there....The BRS link will have ALL the info needed.
As Arky said, we will get this going on another thread as soon as we get a date set.
New, Old, Pro's, Beginngers....The MoJoes don't care...we'll take a signed one from anybody PDT_Armataz_01_28...We baited EVERYBODY pretty hard at the 04 BRS trying to get them to come back in 05?? PDT_Armataz_01_29....Bring them signed ones BACK PDT_Armataz_01_13...we shoot double the money for those back* PDT_Armataz_01_21

I'm with J.D. , anything in july would work i think alot better for me and other people. I mean hell brian think about it...
we didn't start this early last year and we had 55 people show up for something that was only advertised on 1 achery talk forum, let alone two .
fathers day used to be one of the biggest shoots we had also but i think that was because if you brought your son wqith you to shoot the dads got in free, lol.
my only request is for next year, don't group up rickinmo , me, with denker, lmao. there was several times i thought fists were gonna fly.
in the end i guess my vote would be for july10th.

i can understand babies and all but we all know that they never come on the exact date, usually before when they are expected.
Dave, i know you could probably get out of what you need to do that weekend since you have like 6 months of whining and sniveling you can do at modoe to get away for the weekend.
I thought at first arky was a little crazy for starting this thread so early, now i find out that earlier may have been more heartache than anything.
