First things first, welcome to ASN bowhunter368.

How far is the pond from your stand? Looks a good distance. How much is clear cut? Creeks are usually good runways for deer. Is the round area next to stand elevated? Is it wooded along the road that goes through the property? What type of woods are on the property. Need a little of this info to TRY to help you out. If I were you I start doing a little scouting now b4 your season gets too close.

id say the pond is about 50yrds away. but coming about 10yrds from my stand is a nice deer path woth acouple of scrapes.im going tomorrow to scout. i cut 30yrds in a half circle around the stand. so the max shot is 30 yrds. the ground is slightly elevated. then around the outside of the feild is about 20ft of cut grass. half way down the road is(green) the white is field. in the woods are a whole different types of trees. oak, beach, maple, pine, and more i cant think of at the moment. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y161/joeyw368/download2.jpg.
the line is the deer path. thanks for the quick response and your help

If you'd like, shoot me some coordinates or address and I'll punch them into my GoogleEarth program for some satalite photo shots too. I can manipulate the photos a bunch which you may find interesting also. Camera view angling in from the side and from any compass heading for instance.

368 you might want to scout along the road where it enters the field also. Many times roadways act as funnels to a food source. Might have 2 stands in the area so you have an alternative if the wind isn't right at one of your locations.

LOL, I put in the numbers as Long and Lat instead of Lat and Long at first..... It took me to the South Pole! :D

Well, it didn't give the detail I was hoping for. Sometimes the rural areas aren't covered as well.. This photo is aimed due North, but tilted down about 45*. I zoomed in a bit for the second one.

LOL- Good luck kid but I got to tell you, looking at those sat. photos about made me want to hurl :D.

If you know someone in your area who hunts quite a bit, you might ask them to take you on a scouting trip and show you what they are looking for and why. Then just hunt and move your stands as you gather info. That's really the fun part of hunting, assimilate the information, make the decicision and see what happens. Whe you guess right, it's a rush.

BH368...can't add any more to what the others have already said...can't really give much more than general advice without more specific info. I would like to add that you may want to check out your local library to see if they have any books or videos you can check out...same goes with any local hunting/shooting clubs in your area...even some video rental paces carry these types of instructional videos....some have them :) ....some don't :(

looking at those sat. photos about made me want to hurl .

Although you made a great effort Taz....I have to agree with the above statement....couldn't tell if I was drunk or in a plane spiraling downward out of control...sad part is....I kinda liked it :D Hmmm...I suddenly have the urge to take up skydiving again :D
