This is the first real buck I've caught on the trail cams this year. Finally. He's a pretty good one for these parts but his right side didn't turn out like it should. Good buck though.

That's not a bad looking buck...certainly not anything to be ashamed of...all tastes the same on the grill :D ....plus, still more time to go...who knows what else will show up before season opens...

I'm heading to WI this weekend...I'll have the whole family plus the dogs with me, plus I told the kids they could bring a friend or two...not sure if I'll see anything while I'm up there...not actually pursuing anything (no feeders, etc) as I'm not planning on hunting this year...bout all I've done this year was clear some trails through the trees leading to the water's edge so they have easy access to the water (most of the shoreline is heavily wooded and has a drop of a foot or two to the water).... have seen quite a few does and fawns (including two sets of twins) the last couple of times there as well as lots of tracks around the waters edge where I cleared and leveled off...hard to scout things with two boys and two dogs tracing your every step :D But I wouldn't trade the time with them for anything...this weekend is the county fair and the kids are counting down the hours til we leave...they are ready for carnival rides, tractor pulls, demolition derby, cotton candy and my favorite...fresh corn on the cob grilled and dipped in butter!!! Don't think I'll be doing too much work up there this weekend. :D

Tex, what kind of camera are you using? How long do the batteries last? How many pics can you get before recharging or the media is full? How far from the feeder is the camera? Been thinking about getting one for next year...but it's never to early to start shopping :D

Sounds like an action packed weekend for you nut! :D

The camera is a Recon Talon IR flash digital. I have been happy with them until the last one. It has issues. I have 3 of them and bought this brand to use as security on my job sites. That picture was taken at 55 ft at the feeder.
