ASN Archery Buck Contest!

Hey boys and girls, it is time to start thinking about an archery contest for the upcoming season! :D


Lets make this simple and fun.

Any suggestions on how to do this? Remember.....simple and fun. :D

BC good idea. I'll have to do some thinking on how we did this a couple of years ago on another forum. We came up with a way to even the odds since everyone can't hunt Illinois!!! :D

Seriously, I was thinking of a team type deal. We could team people up from different hunting areas. That way one team would not be loaded with states like Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Ohio, Iowa, etc., etc.

That'd be a good idea BC, the only problem I could see is if your partner has to drop out.

How about basing it on the record buck for each state? Break it down to a percentage and whoever comes closest to their states record wins.

Not a bad idea Chris, I was hoping that we could get enough participation to have several people on each team.

I have all of the state records handy here, so it would be easy enough to do it that way.

We would have to score them against the state that the deer was killed in, and not where the hunter resided.

I like the team idea myself. Spread it around that way. Good idea. Hopefully some others will throw out ideas. We really don't have long to put this together.

The teams would work as long as we've got several people on each team. I'm sure getting enough participation won't be a problem since people are gonna be out huntin anyway. It's not gonna require any extra expense or effort.

How about scoring. I'm assuming we'll go with the P&Y green score.

A picture should be required too, not that I'm worried about cheating, I just want to see some nice bucks.

P&Y gross score for the bucks, and each contestant can enter one doe also.

Does count as 50 points.
