"Texas whitetails are the jumpiest deer I've ever hunted," Tom Miranda told me as we compared notes in archery camp. "I like fast arrows, but nothing is fast enough to beat a Texas buck. I always aim for the bottom of the chest cavtiy to compensate for deer-ducking, and my ammo shoots 310 feet per second!"
