Initiated by New Hampshire, followed by Rhode Island and then Texas and so on, the law states that every bowhunter's arrow has to be labeled with the hunter's name and address in some indelible way.

I'd like to know what in your experience is the best way to mark such arrows? What kind of paint or ink is really unwashable? What's the best way for aluminum arrows, and what works best with carbon? Could you pre-print the arrow wraps? Thanks...

Unless they changed the law again... Texas ain't gotta do that anymore...

But you could pre-print it on the wrap...

Thanks, Javi, I'm not up-to-date with that info. Let's say I want to pre-print the wraps; how do I protect the text then? Lacquer it?

Thing is, I'm trying to get bowhunting legalized in Croatia and I'd like to have all the answers to any of the opponents' questions. The Oppo, as you might presume, is the gun hunting fraternity. Now, one of the main questions, also one of the main difference, is the control. I'm stating that bowhunters are less liable to do wrong, among other things also because their projectile can easily be identified - quite unlike a bullet, let alone lead shot.

Now, to be effectively effective, right, this arrow label has to endure various influences etc. That's why I need your experience in that matter, lest someone requires nothing less than engraving. Okay, if stretched to the point of absurdity, I see no problem with engraving aluminum arrows, but you can't engrave carbon.

ive seen it done on the light color vanes, white or yellow, with a black sharpie one side had name and phone # the other had address. ive even seen some where folks sanded a small section of the aluminum shafts and black sharpie there, typically the shaft was done cause the folks were flingin with vanes.

Have one of my uncle's old Bear Whitetail bow with arrows in the quiver. Has he name and address on them. I agree with Javi though, Texas doesn't require it anymore and wraps would be a great place to put it if required.

I agree, the best way is not to need those at all. But hereabouts, people are not so disciplined, and there would be good to have some hook embedded in the personal responsibilities of every hunter; once we get so far as to actually have it legalized. And the name on the arrow looks like one of those hooks.

And since people would have to be able to do those signings themselves, or have i somehow made, they'll have to be told how best and legally acceptable to do that. That's why I'm asking...

Thanks, so far, and if there's any other practical idea about that, please let me know!
