I shoot 65lb and 65% letoff. I tried shooting lower poundage last season, but it was not good for me. I need to be holding 22-23lbs at full draw to remain steady.

70 - 70.5

I'll see what feels most comfortable with the new bow and cams this year.

60# here also. I can get 280 no sweat using 320 grain arrows. Since all of my tournaments up here are limited to 280 I don't need any more.

62-63 with my LX's and Conquest.

The Ovations are so smooth, 70 is a piece of cake.

55-60lb normally. If I get a new bow it will probably be a 50lb'er. With my 30" draw and max'ed out at 52-53lb I'll have more speed than I will need. I was shooting 303 fps last years and was trying out some new arrow that weighted a lot more and it dropped my speed down to 292 fps. I was just trying them to see how they would shoot so I hadn't made a sight tape for them. I was using the sight tape for 303 fps arrows and the 292 fps arrows hit about the same spot as the 303 fps arrows out to about 35 yards. I was really surprised at that.

Boy the additional posts give me something to think about. I thought about going with a 50# maxed out. I shoot 54-55 with my hunting bows. Thanks.

I'm shooting 58-60 lb. Just depends who's scale I use

I get 280 to 290+ depending on which bow I'm shooting.
I never have shot over 60 lbs in my 25+ years of shooting.

Not sure I could even pull 70lbs now :(

Hey Crusher, glad you made it.

Oh yeah, I shoot 62-63 lbs for 3d with 80% letoff, I hold it like a rock with the HP cam system from Mathews.

Hey Sage Creek what kind of speed are you getting at 70#. I am getting 282 @ 64 with a 29" draw. Looking for a 30" cam. Just wondering dude

SageCreek

With the LX and Conquest, I was speeding pretty bad, so never shot them at 70. I was doing like 308 at 63 lbs.

The Ovation I shot at 70 lbs and 30" draw did 288 fps with 8125 strings and cables. I have a new Ovation for target that I haven't shot through my chrono yet because I've been hunting every spare second I have.

I shoot around 63 lbs. for everything but indoor spots. Thinking of dropping a few lbs next year for hunting. Maybe down to 59- 60 lb draw. When hunting in ND in the dead of winter in sub zero temps and wind chills them muscles can gel up pretty fast. I like to be able to draw my bow with out any unwanted movement or pointing skyward. For spots I shoot around 53-55 lbs.

Checked my C2 yesterday and it is set on 53#, has the large maxi cam set on 28 1/2 " draw and shoots a 280 gr. arrow 279fps. Thats right where I want to be, feels best there.

It depends on whether it is for Competetion or hunting Practice.
Competetion, 50 to 55# and shoot a 5 GPP arrow which will still give me a good rate of speed
Hunting practice or fun shoots 72# with a sub 5 GPP arrow for Maximum velocity, down range energy and a flat trajectory.
My 3D bow is shooting arrows at a rate around 285 FPS and my hunting rig is shooting arrows at the rate of 350 to 355 FPS off the string.
