Do you do any thing to manage your hunting properties?
If so what measures do you take?
I would like to hear your strategies :)

Most of my hunting properties are public ground unfortunately, so I can only do so much. It sucks when the neighbor have 500 acres of prime riverbottom hunting ground no more than a mile from my house and I can't get in. :5bomb:
But when I finally get my own ground, I will definately manage it.

Yes sir I manage my property. From foodplots to creating incredibly thick bedding areas/sanctuaries to trail clearing and cutting for better stand access. Improving creek crossing and whatever else I can think of. It seem the process is never really complete which is what makes it so fun. The harder I work the more I actually enjoy it. *No doubt it, there ALWAYS seems like there is something that "needs" to be done out there. In just another *few seasons I think I'm seriously going to be enjoying the full benefits of the program. *
I realize that alot of folks don't own their own property so they don't think there is much they can do. In fact, there are a ton of different small improvements that can easily be made to ANY. From fertilizing Oaks to possibly a little time spent behind a simple push mower or weed trimmer , you can make a noticable difference to the land you hunt and how the deer utilize it during the season. Like I've mentioned, the harder you work, the sweeter the reward! Good luck to all of you

Yes trim trails, mow trails and fertilize those Oaks, you can even set-up mineral spots for spring and summer use for antler development, even if you dont own the land. Like Buckeye stated you will get out of your land you hunt what you put in it.

Yes, from keeping a feeder going year round, with not only corn, but more nutritional feeds during the higher stress times of the year(late winter), 3 separate mineral/salt licks, limiting hunting. Strict rules on harvesting,no small bucks are to be killed on my place. I use game cams to scout/census the area. This comming spring I have plans to put in a food plot.

all we do is try to keep the pressure down on certain areas and don't take any bucks that don't need to be shot. we don't plant or feed any protein and we have seen some monsters come out of the zones we don't hunt. Im planning on putting up a stand in an area we have never hunted before where we saw a monster 12 point on several occations last year.
