Well I finally went out and bought a leaf river dig cam. I am going to set it up today and see how it goes. I will post some pics if I get any decent ones.
I still have a few 1 1/2 and 2 1/2 halfs carring some antler still. We'll see if I can get a few pics :)

Good news and bad news.
Good news is I set it in front of a pile of corn overnight. I had it on a 3 minute delay. It took 41 pictures over night. So the deer are eating good there.
On to the bad news.
I won't be able to see the pics on the cam.
I am already sending it back for repair. It is defective. It will not power up the viewing screen to upload the pics into my PC. I have to send it to Leaf River for repair. They were very friendly on the phone. He said I should have it back in 7 days. I was going to exchange it but Cabelas has them on back order and said they wouldn't recieve their order until Feb. 21st. So then I am looking at up to a week after that for mine.
So back to the factory it goes for repair. I hope these few bucks are still carrying some antler in a week when my camera returns :eusa_doh:[list] He told me the pics will not be able to be saved when he repairs the unit.

Justin, how did you know that it took 41 pictures if the viewing screen is not working? I think you are probably referring to the "events" counter which you can see without the view screen. Normally the number of events is near the number of actual pictures it took but with a 3 min. delay the # of pictures may be somewhat less.

It listed 41 on the lower motion sensor display. I thought that was the picture count. The guy from leaf river I spoke to never corrected me saying that it was a motion count so I am not sure. :eusa_think:
I figured it was a pic count though. I dumped 5 gallons of corn and they ate it all over night.

Well I did what any logical person would do.
I drove down to Ashland Ohio and threw down some cash on another Leaf River cam while mine is away getting service :)

Yes they call that an "event" counter and it is not an actual pic count. But I am sure it is very close, mine is usually within a few of each other. I have never tried pointing my cam at a bait pile, that may be interesting. I thought about trying it but figured the turkeys would devour the corn and I would end up with a ton of turkey pics. Eating 5 gallons in one night sounds like a lot.

It is an established spot where I feed them every winter. I get all the corn for free so I put it down HEAVY for them in the winter :) I gradually stop feeding them little by little around when green up starts. I usually start feeding them about a month after the crop harvest.
BTW I do not hunt any where near the feeding site.
I set the new one up this evening hopefully I will have some decent pics. I didn't get it set up until around 6:15 though. It was getting late. I hope I didn't spook them out being there late.
