making self bow

anyone ever succeded in making a self bow? or taking an animal with a bow you've made? im drying a piece of wood now, and i am goin to attempt to make one! hope to be shooting it by mid summer!

I have made about 20. I have even killed 3 deer with bows that I have made. It takes several before you can get one that actually works. There are a ton of books out there on how to make them. It's alot of fun but be prepared to break a few during the learning curve :D
