Panzer

As I mentioned in another post the Cobras have been sent to the Green Zone for a few days to help with force protection. We're living in one side of a building that used to be a MWR center. The other side is occupied by a unit from the Arkansas National Guard. I was standing outside talking to one of the guys in my unit about the Cuervo Archery Club and one of the Guardsmen standing nearby mentioned that he and one of the other guys in the unit had brought their bows with them. I told him about the archery club we were running on Cuervo he suprised me by saying that he'd heard about us and asked if it was the same group he'd been reading about on ArcheryTalk. I identified myself as Panzer and he said he'd been reading my posts and following the club's progress.
I made a trip back to Cuervo for some other business so me and SPC Guthrie picked up our equipment so we could shoot with these guys. I figured they might need some work done so I brought some spares and tools with me too. We shot with one of the guys last night. He's shooting a MagnaTec which is what I also use as a hunting bow. I replaced a broken string loop and served in a new peep for him to get him back up and running.
I brought a target bag with me too. Their shooting at a makeshift backstop and getting a lot of pass thoughs so I'm gonna leave it here for them when we roll out next week.
It's a small world, ain't it?
