Hmmm.... something does not add up with those scores, are you scoring correctly? *For example, a 290, 50X would mean you missed the 5 ring 10 times and you missed the X 10 times. *This would mean that you every single time you missed the X you also missed the 5 ring. *It is not possible for someone who is accurate enough to shoot 50 X's to miss the entire 5 ring every time they miss the X. *A typical score for someone who shoots 50 X's is 299 or 300. *With a target setup I average around 50 X's and shoot 299 or 300 every time. *With my hunting setup I only shoot about 40 X's but still average around 296 to 298. *Just trying to help you because something is not right.

Sure it is... just shoot in the back yard with a 90 pound dog jumping on you 10 times....
Or score the target as a NFAA Indoor championship round...
Scoring: 3.1 The scoring is five points for the X-ring, four points for the white eight cm. ring, three points for the blue twelve cm. ring, and two points for the blue sixteen cm. ring.

what aint right is you dont know how to score 5 spot.
what CK said all the inner white area on a five spot target counts as 5 points blue area counts as 4
Number of x's are for tie breakers
every one of my shots was some where in the white area of the targetsand 50 and 48of them being in the X circle
Got it now?
if we are playing by different rules some one please inform me. :oha:
AA, you have a PM.

ArcheryAddict, it is obvious that you took my post the wrong way since some of your reply had to be edited. *I was trying to help you understand the scoring. *I DO know how to score a 5 spot round and in your reply above you still have it wrong. *I am just trying to help a fellow archer out. *Read the reply from ck again because you still did not understand. *Anywhere in the white is a 5 whether it is an X or not. *You just said all your arrows were in the white so you did not shoot 290. *Still not sure how you came up with that, how are you scoring it?
Is this your first time shooting a 5 spot? *If so those are some darn good scores, nice shooting.
One more thing to add - Javelina, if NFAA Indoor Championship scoring was used where the X is a 5 and the rest of the white is a 4 then his week 2 score would have been 288 48X, not 290. And then of course, the X count would not be used as a tiebreaker.

That is true, although I just figured he either mistyped or misadded...
Archeryaddict The normal scoring used is as Clay Clinky stated.... On the NFAA blue face 5-spot target the two white rings are 5 points and the blue area is counted as 4 points. The arrow must only touch the line to be counted as the higher score.
So if on both occasions all 60 of your shots where in the white and 48 and 50 of them were in the X ring, your scores would have been 300 50X and 300 48X.... pretty good shooting...
week #2 300 - 60x
week #3 300 - 58x
