My youngest daughter is 21 and lately she has been showing a strong desire to learn how to shoot a bow. Things have changed since I first picked up a bow some 38 years ago. There are many many more bows to choose from as well as all the other equipment that we have to choose from today. I would appreciate all the advice I can get about which bows and other equipment that anyone would recomend for starting out an new archer.

I am no bow expert - but this year my wife (47) and daughter-in-law (21) both decided they wanted to try. So my son and I talked to our local archery gurus and they recommended starting with bows such as Parker SideKick and Diamond Razor Edge among others - those are ones we ended up with. Both have adjustable draw length cams and a good range on limb poundage. As new archer, your daughter may start at a lower draw weight and quickly increase with practice. Anyway - I am sure the real bow knowledge experts will also share their thoughts.

glteach done very well in his recommendations!! The only other things that I can add, is to make sure she is properly fitted and checked for the right draw length and poundage.. Also when first starting out to shoot, do not let her wear her self out.. take breaks in between 5 arrows and plenty of them... A new archer can get so exited and wrapped up into shooting, That they have a tendency, to wear themselves out with numerous shots. Good Luck and I hope she enjoys the sport as much as I do..
