Well - I was out tonight trying to fill my doe archery tag - as tomorrow begins the late firearm season through Sunday in our area. At 4:15 I heard a gun shot and then 15 minutes later there was indistinguishable sound of a 4 wheeler starting up driving to a spot - idling for about 10 minutes and then driving away.

This is on a neighboring property - I never saw the person but wish I had. The only thing in season with firearm right now are squirrels - so it is very easy for me to assume poaching was in progress. This has happened elsewhere but I am just so frustrated that these losers couldn't wait 18 hours until legal firearms season to take an animal.

Of course, this is the kind of thing that gives "hunters" a bad name - but hunters do not do the unethical thing - these people are poachers not hunters.

 I agree with you 110% Jim... Idiots like that do give hunters a bad name. People that do that are not hunters, but like John said, they're thieves.

I agree. Those people don't need to be in the woods at all.

Knowing a couple poachers where I used to live, I only wish, I had turned them in, but it would have created a severe problem between me and others.
Poaching is for those too cowardly to hunt legally. They want to brag but not willing to put in the time and effort to do the right thing.
