Guy's I bought the new Summit Viper X4 climber the other day at BassPro near Toronto. What do you guy's think of this stand .

My observation of this stand is that it's very solidly biult and there's all kind's of room in it for me .The best thing is that the platform is perfect sinceI like to have a big platform .I'm not too comfortable with a small platform because I like to be able to move around on stand .I have a Warren /Sweat stand right now but it's too small and the platform is just too darn small for me to feel safe .
With the Summit you can get side and front pouch's to put all your accessories in so that there's no need to carry in a Backpack which is definetly a plus .You can also get a bowmount that attch's to the stand so that your not alway's tapping into the tree's ,since I have a real problem remembering to take the hook out of the tree when i leave .
This stand has so much room in it and it look's to be as comfortable as my lazy boy that's in my living room ,I just hope that it's not as easy to fall asleep in it LOL.. There also was a 4 point harness included with a connecting rope to keep from losing the bottom section of your stand ,this stand also came with the speed stirup's and a DVD on the safe use of the stand and the option's available for it.

I can't wait to try it out next season.

Nubo, I think you made a good decision. I own 2 Vipers and I love them and I have a bad back. I made my own stirrups which IMO work better than the ones from Summit.(see pic) .....I understand the 04 stand are even better yet than the 03's that I have so they must be awesome !

Bought a Viper X4 this season and never used it. Set it up finally last weekend and played with it in a tree out back. Comfortable to sit in. I can tell I'll like it next season.

The homemade ones are even better than the ones from Summit. They are out of the way but always there. They never need adjusting for different size boots. And you save about $15 over buying the ones from Summit (mute point). ;)
I'll be glad to help you with what is needed and how. Easy to do!

Jerry what I did is cut the black cord for the heels right it half and left it attached to the side. Then all I had to do is attach the other end the side. Thus only having to rig one end on each side.Cause the other end was already attached at the factory.

Here is a pic when I was up in my stand hunting one afternoon. You can see how the stirrups are out of the way. And will adjust to any size boot without touching a thing.
