Most of the people I know that shoot a Mathews use a Shrewd grip. They usually run 35-40 dollars.

I shot the conquest 2 for a while actually had 2 of them one for hunting with the stock grip and one for competition with a shrewd grip. I shot so much better with the shrewd grip. Changed the hunting bow also. Then sold them both. go figure

Actually it should be slick so you don't torque the bow. The problem with a grip rolling in your hand is easy to solve.

I took the grips off my Mathews as soon as I got them and used my shop grinder to take the hump out of the back and the bulges off the side.

(use a thin bladed paring knife and slide it up the back of the riser and pry gently to get the grip off. Then use a thin bead of caulk on the back of the riser to put it back on)

Then you can grind the back to whatever angle you like (7-11 degrees works good for most) and with a little 150 and 200 grit sand paper and some spray-on DEP Polyurathane you have a custom grip that won't slide. It will fit and be all snuggly

Or call Shrewd or Loach and buy a custom grip. I like to tinker, Mrs. LD just copped out and bought the Pro-Made custom grip. :D

I agree, nothing wrong with a torque-free slick grip,

I like the stock ones just fine, but I have switched to the Shrewds and like the way it fits at the top of the grip. It makes me more consistent on the vertical placement.

Shrewd makes great stuff, no doubt about it.

Shooter- when you get your new Apex you wont have to worry about
that :)

Many shoot right off the risor.

Thats right Dan...

I know that My traveling partner Chris Fletcher shoots either a bare riser or sometimes he'll put some tennis racquet grip tape on it.

Check out the Shrewd Precision website....

www.shrewd-one.com

Now they also offer custom engraving on your grip as an option.....

The grips on my BowTechs will say "SPECTRE" across the top 8)

Pretty cool way to personalize your shooting rig I think....
