New shooter

My name is Ian Stewart . I live on Vancouver islamd in British Columbia ,and have been shooting bows for a number of years more recently hve become addicted to instinctive shooting with a recurve bow. I presently shoot a mid 70's bear grizzly bow at 55 lbs, for my 30" draw length. I am interested in getting a string made of the newer manmade materials? I have a friend who will make the string for me but he wasn't sure if the bow could safely handle a more modern string, I would appreciate any suggestions from the members.The bow is in nice conditions and seems to shoot well for me.

Welcome to ASN Ian. I dont know much about shooting traditional bows, but I'm pretty sure there are a few here that does. I do believe there is a special forum just for Trad shooters. Good luck to you
