Hi. Guys I got a problem for you... I just reflecthed 10 arrows the other day and went to shoot the next day after 1/2 an hr of shootin I ended up with only 2 arrows that hadn't had the fletching fall off. I used goat tuff glue and blazers cleaned the shaft and fletchin with denatured alc. after inspecting the arrows you could see a perfect impression of the underside/glueside of the vane, the vanes looked like they just fell off ( no damage at all to the vane) which I saved. What gives I'd appreciate some glue input. fletch procedure here:eek:

Clean arrows with acetone, Wash acetone off with soap and water or just water, You also may want to scuff arrow lightly. All glue has a shelf life. Most guys that fletch there self some times find it a good idea to refrigrate the glue once opening it.
Hope this helps

I didn't have a problem with the glue sticking to the arrow, it wouldn't stick to the vanes, I also cleaned with denatured alcohol which does the same as acetone only not as toxic and leaves absolutely no residue.... also new bottle of glue ???

I fletch these every day have not had a problem with the blazers. But I do use the acetone and then clean with soap and water, this will help elimanate the residue. One more thing to think about, Look on your box of Blazers...... These also have a shelf life.... May suprise you but it's not very long either. Good Luck

I'll try the acetone soap and water thing the blazers have been sittin around in my fletchin box for 8 or nine months I think, maybe I ought to toss em and go get new. we'll see what happens, I'll let you know thanx

big you can also use wraps. The adhesion between the vane and vinyl is very good and imo makes for easier job of refletching next time. They look purty too. :D

I would try crazy glue as it sometimes is better than regular arrow glues

Ok News Bullentin::
Just returned from Tech trainning and found out something I did not know!!
Blazers have a two year shelf life and that's it.. I since finding this out have switched to the 2" duravane fusion and have had not one problem with these.. I am curently expermenting with other vanes as well: After so many customer complaints about the blazers, I have decided to switch my self. The duravanes seem to even fletch better!!!

Since that time, which is quite a while ago, I got a hold of a bohning rep. He told me specifically not to use solvents, but, to use ajax or comet and I also used a worn green scratchy pad with hot water and rinsed well, this neutralizes the ph levels on the arrows from the clear coat they put on the arrows. And also puts micro scratches in on the clearcoat. I've also used the comet without a scratchy pad, but, prefer the added security. Since then I've had absolutely no adhesion problems 0. The only time I have refletched since is when the fletches get torn up. Hope that helps....

That's good to know! some carbons give a hard time and some don't. That method should work.
