she was an advocate for beautification of the nation's cities and highways and conservation of natural resources.
In the 1970s, she focused her attention on the Austin (To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.) riverfront area through her involvement in the Town Lake Beautification Project. After her death in 2007, Town Lake was renamed Lady Bird Lake to honor her efforts.

Franklin Pierce ordered the first bathtub for the White House. Many people were upset thinking that taking baths was not healthy and would make you sick!

well, water was supplied to the upstairs in 1853, so a tub was probably put in then. Millard Fillmore ((water) hehehe punny I know)) was the sitting Pres until Pierce took over in March.... and... you already gonged Tex.... So Im gonna say Millard Fillmore :)

Woodrow Wilson (I think) --- by the way the $100,000 bill was not used in the public sector. It was used to transfer money between banks. Also it was orange instead of green. (This answer was provided thanks to a National Public Radio story that aired Wednesday.) Otherwise I would not have had a clue.

Really? I could of swore I used to carry one of those around in my wallet and I don't remember it being orange! :eusa_liar:
